I've used and reviewed lots of different types of compact / bushcraft fishing kits on my channel but the Backpack Kaster but is my go-to 'bushcraft fishing kit. It's the one I'd recommend over anything else out there. Best of luck when you're next out.

My fly fishing rods got wrecked moving but have all the smaller poles, tackle box and a little livewell with a seat bucket. Haven't used them in awhile.

I have one but have never been able to catch anything with it. But I suck at fishing regularly lol

Have you ever caught any fish with it? I'm a trucker but I stop here and there at streams, lakes and such and was thinking bout putting a fishing pole and tackle box but really wanted something small in my semi and cane across this , so just curious how good is it and if you have caught a fish , what was it like

This is definitely a great option.

Neat. I have a setup that closes to about 12 inches that I can put in a pack.

I've got one of these, still my favourite backpack fishing rod. I even made a video about it.

We used a empty beer r soda bottle,tied one end of the fishn line to the neck of the bottle n the rest of it wrapped around the bottle with a hook n sinker. .n stored grasshopper r worms inside the bottle,n time for some fishn...😄

I'd get a rodless reel instead. It's twice the price of the ka-bar but at least it's more compact and it's still got a handle to turn and reel in fish
