    Thank you, Noe Noe. Aloha kakahi'aka. Lalakea, the shark Aumakua is no stranger to me. Neither is Nana'ue, his brother. I lived in Waipi'o Valley for seven years and have become somewhat acquainted with my heritage. My maternal bloodline comes down from O'ahu. Unfortunately, I am no longer residing on Hawaii Nei. Peace to you. Ua mau ke ea o ka a'ina e ka pono.

    What it is supposed represent that wooden object ? What's the purpose of this ritual? I learned that the ancient Hawaiian spirits are not physical but it could be manifested in an element of nature not man made.

    Were people ever sacrificed to the volcanoes? Or is this just myth?

  • @biggiekay

    @biggiekay

    3 жыл бұрын

    That is purely Hollywood. Our volcanoes are not explosive like other places in the world nor are they a mountain that you can walk to because the ground is too hot. Sacrifices were made at an altar, but human sacrifices were rare. And if a human sacrifice was made, it was for a very high important reason, but it was understood that sacrifice came at a high cost. That's why it rarely happened. Sacrifices were usually made with a specific species of fish or pig depending on the god/goddess you were offering to and on the reason for the sacrifice.

    @@digiswitcha deeper understanding of Pele and the peoples love for her- can be found in Ka Poe Hiko by Samuel Kamakau . After someone's death , the family may return the body to Pele in a loving ceremony , if they were an ancestor of her . It's very deep, just like all things "Hawaiian". Aloha to you curious one. ❤️

    Paddy Maguire disease and interbreeding means many who live there are white even though they can trace their bloodlines back. Likewise honoring the earth doesn't require a blood link.

Actually the white liberal are the most dangerous of them all. They think we should unify and mixed but in real life thats a bad idea.
