FINALLY, MY BABIES!!! I restored and customized these. Large Ring K98 are great platforms for those who want to have a modern type bolt action and shoot antiques/ historical rifles. I can no longer do it and it’s something I miss. Time to sell everything (tools guns & parts) and let someone else continue. I was actually working on converting one into a 308 when I lost hand motor skills. Too bad. Thank you for sharing your videos. I truly enjoy watching them, especially old guns. I actually miss turning one’s trashy gun into “new”.

I'm sorry if I'm being nosy but out of professional curiosity, how did you lose your motor skills? I'm sorry if I'm being tactless, all the best to you sir.

@@TheJole88 This is correct! Mauser sued the American government for patent infringement and won. They received royalties for every 1903 Springfield rifle made, until the US joined in with the Great War and stopped making payments to the country it was fighting against. The proprieties of contract law and court judgements tend to get lost when a state of war exists between countries.

@@TheJole88 Hi Jole. The Mauser K98 was made in Germany and under licence in several other countries, to the tune of about 100 million copies. TCallier is pointing out to Sven that he didn't make the rifle personally. Still, it's a wonderfully engineered product of Germany and it seems reasonable to recognise that. After all, it's a 125 year old design that can still be purchased today. 🙂

I’m so glad you kept this one as close to original as possible. Another channel “restored” a Kar 98 and just turned it into a generic hunting rifle.

That came out really nice. Question it looks like the bolt on your rifle is really stiff when you are cycling it mine isn't like that. Also the bore cleaned very nice but if you want to really pull that accuracy in you should look in to the TUBBS rifleing system to help with any pitting you might still have

Excellent work. I have one question for you. Firing pin tip protrusion gauge for k98, is it from 0.7 to 1.2mm, or not, and if not, how much exactly is it? Then I think it is the same value for Yugo slavian M48.
