    These Chinese lasers have become quite popular. I’m sure these tips are going to be helpful to many people. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you. To me the K40 is similar to an Anet A8 printer - you basically get a kit or a set of components - not a ready-made product. But with a few upgrades (in total I think I have spend around 100 € in addition to the printer itself which was 360) you get a machine that works absolutely fine.

    Mayur Sonar If you pressed down the power and the laser on button O would check the connections from the power supply to the laser. If everything else is powered and the laser doesn’t fit at all the laser tube might be damaged. It’s possible to get a replacement tube via eBay but I haven’t replaced a tube before.

    Matt Tanner This is total BS. If you look what the laser beam does to acrylic glass - it does pretty much the same to your cornea ... which is definitely harmful. If you want to be sure remove a small part of the screen (eg clip off a corner), put it under the laser and see if the laser beam gets through the material ...

  • @WayofWood

    @WayofWood

    5 жыл бұрын

    Matt Tanner In my case the laser beam has never hit the protection screen. In practice installing a safety switch might be more important that the material of the screen: An Open lid offers the least protection 😏

    I am sorry. I am confused. So do I need a red screen to protect my eyes? Just trying to play it safe is all..Mine did not even have the backing on the window that I am seeing everyone pulling off theirs. Sorry, just frustrated is all. This thing is costing me and more every time I turn around. Finding pieces that are not soldered correctly and missing items. SO I am taking it one step at a time to make sure I am covered on all grounds.

    Snyder Spindles I was really afraid of having a machine causing problems after international shipping. I‘ve also heard from people that got K40 lasers with damaged parts - but even if my model would have had any issues I could have replaced it quite a few times before reaching the same cost as a glowforge or full spectrum.
