Unbelievable. Käärijä has "the thing". He finds the right melody with the right rythm to make us dance, and what I like with him is that he turns a song composed as a Metal song in an effective pop/electro song, and as a metalhead, I'm a big fan.

I love this formula. But I think I would also appreciate the "dance metal" with no joyful melodies added. Or it could also be a joyful dance metal in the whole song! :)

If you love this style of music I recommend Electric Callboy to anyone who still hasn't heard about them. Käärijä basically got inspired by them too and their songs have a very similar and fun mixed genre formula like Käärijä does.

His music is so good I can sing a bit of it even if I don’t know Finnish at all (and my mother language is nowhere close to Finnish so it’s supposed to be hard as hell)

I had to come back to this again. Out of all the new songs Käärijä has made, I feel this one most strongly. Easy to sing along, strong melody, catching vocals and heavy pump. I just imagine Käärijä stepping to ESC stage again and perform this to open the show. Perfect. ❤‍🔥

Even Käärijä is in love with Käärijä, and rightly so.

He did, the results were fabricated. Noone actually rooted for Loreen to win, and the juries can be easily corrupted to vote go the „winner”. No hate towards Loreen, though, I love Euohoria and wished to like Tattoo just as much. But Käärijä’s performance and song were so outstanding, that I’m still a bit bitter about the results… I was walking around telling everyone that Käärijä would win, and I was sure about his victory, because what’s not to love? Tattoo was well produced and sung great, since Loreen is a talented vocalist, but a bit generic. Too bad Käärijä missed his chance because of all that, but he will always remain our winner.

@@joannaksyta1215 I mean, we can appreciate Kaarija and his music without outright lying. People did vote for Loreen. It wasn't fabricated. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean that other people didn't. Kaarija was my winner as well, but I'm not delusional. Were the jury votes skewed in her favour because she had the more standard song? Yes. But that's sadly just the way it goes, and at the end of the day she won based on the votes she did receive from the public vote.

Käärijä was definitely a fan favourite, based on how many votes he got from the public. Loreen didn’t get that much from the public, but a lot from the juries. Maybe they know better…

The issue is that the juries are a handful of people who are all very narrow-minded on what music should be... when the reality of it is, good music is whatever makes people feel. People really vibed with Kaarija, and the votes reflected that... but it's an outdated practise unfortunately. Tattoo is a great song, but it's very standard as you said. But because it doesn't break any boundaries it's a safe jury pick.

It slaps so hard

I just love this song! "Huh hah hei!" doesn't really mean anything, it is a translation of one chant from a sea song called "Dead Man's Chest" from a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson called Treasure Island (1883). The original lyrics are: "Yo, Ho, Ho And a Bottle of Rum!" and that was translated into Finnish as "Huh Hah Hei ja rommia pullo!" (1909) You might recognize the chant from Pirates of The Caribbean. So Käärijä has incorporated into his song again some very old Finnish music history. And the most wholesome part of this song is the end, a big cruise ship is blowing its fog siren, perfect way to end a song that takes place in a cruise ship. I love this song, it makes me happy!

Thank you so much for the explanation! To us non-Finns, "Huhhahhei" just seemed like utter nonsense (a friend of mine even asked if the song was named after a cat walked over the keyboard), but the with context of Yo-ho-ho as well as incorporating different famous boat-related elements makes PERFECT sense.

Parts of this sound like older Käärijä production, other parts clearly the new style. Half of the song is hard and heavy, half light and joyful. Some parts sound like the same style as Ccc and ICIP, and otherwise it is something very different. What a crazy mix that just WORKS so well when put together!
