    Check out the parts list in the video's description box to see if you will have enough pieces to build this gun! A reminder that it doesn't use any broken pieces! Stay tuned as I've got a true semi automatic 28 round SMG replica for my next release! Still working on a few other guns including a pump shotgun and a bolt action WW2 rifle. Until then I hope some of you will be able to build this HK417!

    I should be able to build this, and im looking forwards to it. I build your m14 and its shocking how accurate youre able to make these in addition to good performance and an interesting mech. Also semi auto guns are my favourite and theres not many around. Knowing your skill it will be flawless and a true work of art. Also im botboi852 on instructables 😀

    Your EBR is just so cool! I like how you made the two sides different colors! I’ve always been interested in the small details especially the color scheme. I took my EBR out the other day to shoot it at some cans. Gun is a great piece. Thanks for building it and I’m glad you’re still around and building!

    Love it. Knex will always be better than lego for gun making

    They both have their pros and cons. I enjoy the sturdiness that K’Nex pieces provide. I think Lego has more options available as for possible shooting mechanisms and ideas though. I hope to build new firing mechs for K’Nex guns paired with high power potential.

    That is the plan! I have a completely redesigned model of TAR21 and M14EBR. While these two are new generations, the Glock is more of an update of the first gen.

    Haha it’s always strange to hear other people talk/think about me like that. I’m glad to be back and posting again. That would be a very neat idea for a KZread Short. I’ll see what I can do as some of these guns rely heavily on their external shells to hold everything together.

    Hey thanks man! While Lego definitely has more capabilities as far as mechanisms and working on small projects, I really like Knex’s building style it provides much stronger structures. On a side note is that you and your dirt bike in your profile picture? I just got into riding last year and am on a kawa zx6r.

    Your builds are so aesthetically pleasing! I wish I had that ability for visuals, I can only do mechanisms. Do an AK build next?

    I’ve always been one to focus mostly on cosmetics over mechanism. I used to just build pin guns that used the same mechanism in a different shell without any neat features. Only with these new guns have I kept both looks and mechanisms in mind. Each one has cool features that I’ve thought out pretty thoroughly! I’d love to see some of your mechanisms. One may give me an idea or I may want to use one in a future gun. I plan on building an AK relatively soon! Probably the smaller 74u variant.

    @@bluemulletknex I can see the focus on cosmetics and it’s great. I have a short on my channel of a mechanism I’m working on. It’s hammer fired full auto and I want to add shell ejection too, it’s compact and would fit an AK platform. If you want we could collab on an AK build?

    @@gabe2968 I’ll have to check it out! Your mechanism sounds epic! Most likely a rubber band gun? I just started my next semester on Monday so unfortunately that will slow my building. For this reason doing a collaboration right now wouldn’t be the best thing for me to get into.

    How much use can you get out of the band before it snaps?

  • @bluemulletknex

    @bluemulletknex

    A ton. Before the gun was an HK417 it was an M110 with obviously a much longer barrel. I had stretched one way out on it which ended up snapping on me. I have yet to break a band on the HK417. I honestly think the HK417 works best starting on the lower settings then going to a medium. This way you don’t over stretch the band and cause permanent deformation.

    I live in the uk and dont have a target, what could i use a 117 band instead of the headband. The ones scunci ones ive found online are rather expensive probably because of shipping. Could i use any elastic headband?

  • @bluemulletknex

    @bluemulletknex

    6 ай бұрын

    Hmm I’m pretty sure a 117 will not work and if it does, not only will the mech not work smoothly but it also will snap the band rather quickly. If you find a rather thin head band (just try to find one similarly looking go the scunci) and it should work. For a size comparison the scunci bands are a little over 2.5cm longer than a black / gray rod. As long as the headband is that nice smooth nylon material it should be fine!

    The knex force sets had a few in each. Growing up with nerf and knex i managed to get quite a few of those sets and now i have around ten. Not as popular anymore and you should be able to find the sets for a good price. You also get the darker variant of the yellow connectors and the mini green rods come in black.
