從化區位於中國廣東省中部，珠三角北緣；是廣州市最北部的一個市轄區，區人民政府駐街口街道新城東路99號。
從化區以珍稀溫泉聞名於世，有「中國溫泉之都」之美稱，且素有「北迴歸線上的明珠」與「廣州後花園」之譽。境內有100多個湖泊水庫，12萬公頃青山，森林覆蓋率67.2%。
從化區原為廣州番禺及廣州增城地，明弘治二年三月己巳（1489年4月11日）由番禺劃地設置從化縣，取「遠庇歸化」之意，隸屬廣州府。
位於珠江三角洲的北部邊緣，廣州市東北部，廣東省中部，境內多山，其中海拔1210公尺的天堂頂是廣州最高峰，且有流溪河過境並建有水庫。
從化區東與增城區、惠州市龍門縣接壤，南與廣州郊區白雲區、黃埔區毗鄰，西面及廣州市花都區、清遠市接壤，北面與清遠市佛岡縣、韶關市新豐縣相連。
地名由來
太平鎮因北宋初趙匡胤派兵南下，平定嶺南至此，從此太平無事而得名。
太平鎮通用粵方言從化話6.18萬人，佔66% ；通用從化客家話1.97萬人，佔21%；其他1.22萬人，佔13% 。

Conghua District is located in the central part of Guangdong Province, China, on the northern edge of the Pearl River Delta. It is a district in the northernmost part of Guangzhou City, and the district people's government is located at No. 99, Xincheng East Road, Jiekou Street.
Conghua District is famous for its rare hot springs and is known as the "Chinese Hot Spring Capital". It is also known as the "Pearl on the Tropic of Cancer" and the "Back Garden of Guangzhou". There are more than 100 lakes and reservoirs, 120,000 hectares of green mountains, and a forest coverage rate of 67.2%.
Conghua District was originally Panyu and Zengcheng, Guangzhou. In March of the second year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (April 11, 1489), Panyu was divided to set up Conghua County, which means "returning to the distant rogues" and is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Prefecture.
Located on the northern edge of the Pearl River Delta, northeast of Guangzhou City, and central Guangdong Province, it is mountainous in the territory. Among them, Tiantangding, with an altitude of 1,210 meters, is the highest peak in Guangzhou. There is also a Liuxi River passing through it and a reservoir built.
Conghua District borders Zengcheng District and Longmen County of Huizhou City to the east, Baiyun District and Huangpu District of Guangzhou Suburbs to the south, Huadu District and Qingyuan City of Guangzhou City to the west, and Fogang County of Qingyuan City and Xinfeng County of Shaoguan City to the north.
Origin of the Place Name
Taiping Town was named after Zhao Kuangyin sent troops south to pacify Lingnan in the early Northern Song Dynasty, and there has been peace since then.
In Taiping Town, 61,800 people speak the Cantonese dialect Conghua dialect, accounting for 66%; 19,700 people speak the Conghua Hakka dialect, accounting for 21%; and 12,200 people speak other dialects, accounting for 13%.
