I just found this the other day at a hardware store for $4. I bought it and fell in love with the lightness of it. I'm 17 and there was never really anything like this while I was growing up. Everyone's so sweet and it's a nice change of pace from what I'm used to. If anyone needs help getting a copy, just message me and I can try my best to get it to them.

A few years ago, I found out that Jack Barry was related to my father's side of the family - but that family didn't acknowledge him after the quiz show scandals broke out. (They thought his alleged actions were crooked and unethical.) He somewhat resembles my brother and dad, though, so there must be something here. Part of Jack Barry's family was Austrian, and my family came from that part of the world.

This is interesting as I was reading in Wiki about the show and it stated that the shows were destroyed by NBC as were the practices of the time. Glad this is one of the saved episodes to be enjoyed.

I had the opportunity to be in the audience at 1 of these JJ tapings in approximately 1971 when they brought the show back! I even showed up on camera as I was with the family 1 of whom was a girl they asked about why her mom wouldn't buy her a snake so I showed up on camera, I wish someone would post those 1970s versions - it would be so cool to find that one episode!

These kids are adorable! What a great show; it would be cool to have it brought back to TV! Steve Harvey as host, immediately comes to mind. 😍

This show was controversial to many viewers, because of the way the children behaved. Lotsa mothers back in the day would've slapped their kids on the rump if they acted like these kids were acting.

This show is hilarious. Scotch cellophane tape was around since the 30's. It got yellow with age, and you see that in some old books fixed with Scotch cellophane tape. The Scotch Magic tape was invented in 1961. It was "frosty on the roll and invisible on the job". It did not yellow as much.

Linkletter originated the children interviews on his show "House Party. House Party aired on CBS Radio and on ABC Radio from January 15, 1945 to October 13, 1967 and on CBS television as Art Linkletter's House Party from September 1, 1952 to September 5, 1969.

I wouldn't be surprised if most, if not all, of these kids are still alive. They are in all likelihood the grandparents of today's generation of kids - if they didn't postpone parenthood until they were in their 30s or 40s, which would have been likely given that this generation of girls was the first to pursue careers outside the home on a large scale.

Just wondering if this show was rigged like Barry's more infamous show, "21". He was all over the place in the '50s; he even co-hosted a show with Joe DiMaggio that was sponsored by Lionel toy trains.

There was a 1982 pilot version of this program starring Nipsey Russell. It was planned to be on CBS, but "Child's Play" got the election.

Actually, the Cosby version of "Kids Say the Darnedest Things" was actually an updated version of something Art Linkletter used to do as a segment of his show. Similar to how Allen Funt's "Candid Camera" was a variation of Linkletter's show "People Are Funny".

This was during the period when "JUVENILE JURY" was on NBC's Sunday afternoon schedule for 3M, the makers of "Scotch Tape"- it usually aired on Sundays during the '50s.
