Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Here is a little video of just the riding footage of a very cool bike. This 1985 Yamaha RZV 500R belonged to a customer of ours and before it went on the auction block, he let us take it for a spin. No music, no talking, just a few minutes of our time on this classic up in the Angeles National Forest.

Oh what a sound. For the person who gave it a thumbs down you should be ashamed of yourself
Such a cool video. I wish you continue doing these. Rare bikes, no annoying music or long introductions, great footage and roads. Love this format.

It's been a while but we just uploaded another one! We hope to be able to do more soon: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pYGVvMxspKann7g.html
I used to own an RG500, boy does it bring back memories.
OMG…….memories. I LOVED my RZ. Ahhhhh….the sound, the smell and the vibrations….that right there was a bike. Bare bones and raw. Wish I too ( like Jeff Greens comment ) had never sold it. Ugh……
I had the Yamaha RD 350 ccm YPVS but my Dream was Always the 500 ccm ,more Power for chasing big bikes on the country roads 💪Amazing Engines from Yamaha 😘👌
Back in the '84-'86, I bought an '80RD400 in mint shape off my cousin with 2500 miles(4000kms) off him. He hardly rode it. Stock, it was a fun bike and I was already pretty good at wheelies on bicycles and dirt bikes. This one was awesome to do them on and I could go a few hundred feet, especially uphill. I put racing chambers, K&N pod filters and Boyessen Reeds in it. I took the back steel taillight/license plate/fender off and tucked the taillight under the seat cowl. After taking the stock pipes off (two piece, headpipe and muffler) just one of the mufflers without the headpipe was heavier than the entire box from California! Bet I gained 15-20 HP and dropped 30 or more pounds off an already light almost new bike. That thing was QUICK! Before the changes, I had to clutch the bike to wheelie. Afterwards, I loved pulling away from a stop and while barely moving, bury the throttle at 2000rpm. It would bog, but when it hit 5500rpm or so, it would lift the front wheel sky high just by t hitting the power band! Sold it a few months later though to buy a bigger bike. Sure miss the old girl!
Amazing! What a song she sings. The sounds that bike makes are SO GOOD.
4 strokes are amazing but the sound of the 2 stroke make your soul smile I love it

Had an '80 RD400 in the mid 80's. Posted the mods and power increase in the post below. Unfortunately, I sold the bike when a friends father offered to buy it for a "beginner" bike for his daughter.I thought, sure, my buddies all had bigger bikes. Went to the dealer, and it was love at first sight. Bought a brand new '85 Kawi 900 Eliminator which I have to this day for a reason! two weeks after selling the RD, I wished I'd kept it, but didn't think about it at the time and it paid for the insurance. A month later, the girl who bought the RD slowly dumped it, hitting gravel turning into a country driveway. Heard about that one. Then her brother flipped it over doing wheelies a week later (Thought he knew how to ride!). I saw it after that and nearly cried! That bike was mint when I sold it to her! To this day, I still get a "stiffy" every time I hear a two stroke start up, which is rare and far between!
Best road one I’ve seen

As in the best road bike?
Maybe one of my favorite bike ever
That brings back very fond memories. I owned one for 4 years from the late 80's. I had it Dynoed, it made 72 rear wheel horse power, which, even today is not too bad from a 500cc bike. The 16inch front wheel was scary at times, If you didn't have the steering damper wound up it could slap real bad. The noise and smell were fantastic, I felt like Wayne Rainey every time I got on it. One of only two 'bikes out of very very many that I wished Id never sold.
Love the start..ring ding ding ding ding...LOL
Those pipes sound amazing
Wish Id not sold mine, sweet bike.
Superb!
Top of third doing over 160kmh. I had an 84 RZ 500 and an 85 RZ 250. Australia. Wish I still had them both.
What an iconic bike from the 80s. A guy around the corner from me had one and I can still hear it passing my house to this day. I hadn't a hope of ever owning one as I had no money at the time. 😞 Nice to see them driven as intended.
... jetzt habe ich auch wieder Lust auf Zweitakter bekommen ... 😎✌
I used to ride on roads like this. So many of the best roads are also the most dangerous. if you slide out at high speeds you slide into the rocky hillside and are dead. and if you slide out in the other direction you go off a cliff. ( Nice bike ) in 85 I had the first 1984 Ninja 900.
Dan that sound is Eargasm
Merveilleuse musique .
Tres beau son !!
I’m guess I’m gonna have to one up this one.
The sound 👌
Awesome² sounds ❗✌🏻 stroke 👊🏻
That is exactly how that bike sounds in real life.
Great video really enjoyed seeing and hearing that blast up the road, reminded me of my old RD350 ypvs !
Sounds So GOOD!!!! Two RD twins mated into a V4 ( unless i am mistaken )
That wail sounds so good.
Great video ‼️.. thank you .. love the sound of the big two strokes 🤩

David, thanks for the feedback! That's exactly what we were trying for - we'll always have videos with commentary, but we think it'll be nice to have a series just dedicated to the sound, and we hope our subscribers agree! Thanks for watching. - Abhi
You guys have all the best toys. Great little video 👍🏻
I’m a big fan of the smaller 2 strokes but it is very cool seeing the big one rip around for sure.
Sweet sound. Like a big chain saw. I love it.

My dream bike!
Love the format and the concept. But less than 3 minutes? More like a teaser video for an upcoming 30min video!
🙏
Always Wanted the RD 500..
I just rode those Mountain roads of Arizona but on my T700 Tenere not my RZ 500! :)
Nice bike🤙🤙
Very good tuning. Hardly any smoke from the tailpipe.
What a sound. 😍 some cool shots in this video. Nicely done. Just watched the bike curious video of it as well.

I had an rz 500 while my cousin had the rg 500. The rg had about 5 kms more, but had a shit turning circle. The rz felt slightly lighter and a little better handling, but it was mainly down to the riders. I was extremely lucky to be able to ride both enough to appreciate the subtle differences. Wish we'd never sold them.
Like my friends RD Top de line
Imagine how good would a 2023 RZV500 be. I really do hate all this Euro 5 bullshit. 2 Stroke bikes are the business.

I'm not sure if this reply is being sarcastic or not? If you have been around sport bikes for 40 years you would know 180kmph is not fast today by any stretch where 300kmph top speeds are not uncommon, but back in '85 this bike would do 200kmph which was well and truely respectable.

Wow, really is party time at 7k RPM, huh.
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
A 350 já anda imagina a 500
god that sounds good tb they didn't make a 1000cc
This bike can do a lot more... You just used 20% of power... 2T is not 4T you must use that throttle
Let’s be honest, these were never very good. Compromised engine design, as complex as a four stroke, never that quick. That doesn’t mean to say I don’t want one. They look and sound fantastic, and that’s enough.
Too short
