From a Canadian, Trudeau pulled the snap election last time just after he did something good (can’t remember what it was) and it cost a lot of money. He has taxed us way too hard and most of us can hardly pay our gas and oil bills. We are the same as the US where we need to have equal representation from each province. At the moment they have almost three times the MP’s from Ontario to the Atlantic provinces. They decide the elections before we in Alberta even vote. The problem is that Polieve has shown some MAGA inclinations and 80% of us don’t want to put someone like that in office.

The snap election was called after successfully coming through the pandemic, which was costly. Not sure it was a good decision to call it at that time.

Love our Candian friends. They stand with us, true and true. If we have learned anything here in the U.S., please vote; make your voice heard. It is the only way to ensure you can stand behind your demands for the type of country you want. Vote up and down, not just when it comes to the Presidency. I have learned that the hard way, unfortunately. And it takes a long time to fix a political mistake! Good luck Canada.

I agree with you, I have been saying that Trudeau needs to step down for awhile now. He has been the PM for 8 years now and Canadians are getting tired of him. I don’t have a problem with him, but worry about Mr . PP getting elected. He is known as the skinny Trump.😢

Thank you David for giving us a glimpse of our politics here, and I agree with what you shared. I know from listening to friends, neighbors and family, we are tired of Trudeau, but are worried about the alternative. We don't want a Trump wannabe either. I also follow American politics, and feel that usually what happens there tends to come here at some point. So I hope that Biden wins, the debates and the election because I'm afraid of what Trump would bring about for my American friends and neighbors. 😊❤

You nailed it! Trudeau's govt. is a Minority govt., a coalition with an extreme left wing party to whom he is beholden. The pendulum has swung too far left for average canadians to stomach. His hubris is immeasurable but he can no longer hide his incompetence. Our Min. of Finance is a Harvard grad, granted, but studied Russian History. Canada's GDP has fallen off a cliff compared to other G7 nations, and the quality of life has deteriorated for just about everyone. National Debt servicing has doubled since he took office and canadians feel crushed by a slew of new taxes. Classic tax n' spend liberal economics. Everybody is disgruntled and pessimistic about their futures. It's time for a change. Nobody thinks the new guy waiting in the wings, Pierre Polievre, will be a savoir. But he will be the agent that swings the pendulum back to center. The US lessons on Trump aren't lost on Canadians, that brand of crazy will not be tolerated and if it manifests the new bunch will be voted out swiftly. Thanks for your insight.

As a Canadian, Trudeau hasn't had a majority government for a while, supporting NDP government has been helping Canadians get the most out of the government. The conservative government is not better at governing. Past history has proven this. Its the grass is greener on the other side of the fence mentality. It's not, but some Canadians believe it to be true

What I find really interesting are the incredibly STRONG opinions against Trudeau when I post up a reading on him. He doesn't really strike me as a divisive person, so I'm not sure why there is so much vitriol. As much as there was for Obama here in the US.

@@tarotbythebay Trudeau and his family have been caught several times using their name to make huge amounts of money. Plus he tried to influence the lady that was our top legal person to drop charges against him. He was involved in kick backs (I think) with another huge company after awarding them contracts. He also gave the Covid travel app development to two guys that were not qualified. I don’t like Pierre at all either and our NDP guy was good until he coalitions with Trudeau.

To be honest, as a Canadian, Trudeau and his father were pretty much the worst PMs we've had (imho). But I'm not so sure it's going to get any better with Pierre Poilievre. We are stuck...Housing is at a critical point, we cannot take in much more new residents. We're welcoming but there is nothing left because every government in the last 30-40 years or so did nothing to build new housing. Trudeau called us intolerant for saying this, but it's just logical, more people - need more houses / apartments. Our system is strained because there is so much demand. If we cannot welcome people decently, we have a problem. Also, people investing in properties makes it unaffordable for many. In reality, it's much more complicated, but something needs to be done. Thanks for this reading !

🇨🇦🍁 I think all the big issues -- and I mean municipal, provincial and federal -- are now conflated in Canada even in this riding, a traditional Liberal stronghold. It's in the heart of Toronto. High rents, continuing high food prices, transportation issues, endless construction, massive traffic congestion, etc. Everyone's fed up. It's unfortunate but I do think Trudeau needs to step down and let somebody else help give the Liberals a shot. Because the right hates Trudeau like MAGA hates Biden. And they get help from the American far right in fuelling their rage. I shudder at the thought of the conservative leader as PM. He's counting on riding the wave of hate and dissatisfaction right into office.

@alaine57 - I will say that in the USA, the conservative party have always (and I do mean ALWAYS) paint themselves as being the party of fiscal responsibility. They aren't. Not even close. I was a Republican for decades (my brother still is) but it is very obvious that this slogan isn't factual.......at least in the US. And if it is true in the US, it may well be true in Canada. All I ask is that you hold any conservative government to their campaign promises.....and if they don't keep them.....then remove them until you get someone who does hold their promises. What I have found is that the US conservatives LOVE to spend money on the Military Industrial Complex while allowing the ultra wealthy and corporations to keep more money.
