*sigh* And who said he didn't? Any position may have a number of equally qualified persons available to fulfill it. Just because the person chosen was a woman doesn't mean that they were less qualified than any of the other candidates. There is rarely a case where there is just one -- and only one -- person who can excel in the top spot at any given career.

@Sophia A Amazing leader? Not really. His policies are atrocious. His party wastes an incredible amount of taxpayer money. He doesn't put the needs of Canadians first. He was slow and indecisive in dealing with the COVID-19 threat. Is he a good human being? Surely he has his good points. But he is also a bit of a snake. He doesn't answer questions straight. He quietly directs his party to institute underhanded policies. He sings about the important role of women in government but he kicks out an important female minister because of a crime he committed. He has a fair number of ethics violations. In other words, he's just like any other two faced politician in government, but just a lot more incompetent. Unfortunately, many Canadians are easily fooled.

*_THE BIGGEST COMPLIMENT YOU CAN GIVE TRUMP_* is to attack him personally. You can't attack him for starting wars like his predecessors because he hasn't started any. You can't attack him for a tanking economy like his predecessors because the economy is booming. You can't attack him for going on apology tours for the United States like his predecessors because all he does when he goes abroad is fight for us. You can't attack him for raising taxes like Obama did and Hillary would have done because he lowered them. You can't attack him for being soft on national defense and at our borders like his predecessors because we all know how he is with those. You can't attack him for being corrupt and rigging an election because he won DESPITE the election being rigged against him. You can't attack him for not being available to the press because he speaks with the press every single day. And speaking of the press, you can't attack him for not being patient because there is nobody alive with his amount of patience. Not a single one of us would be able to handle all the shit he has to deal with. You can't attack him for any of the actual important things that affect our daily lives because when it comes to those issues, he's doing a superb job. So if all people can attack him on is his personality, I'd say that's a win for him and all of us too. And as far as working for us, he's just barely gotten started. Side note: The reason Trump was elected in the first place was a message to the political and media establishments that we see right through their bullshit and lies, we aren't buying their bullshit and lies, and we won't put up with them anymore. It was a loud and clear message for them but they just don't get it still because they're not just continuing with the same behavior, they're doubling down. They are the epitome of stupid and will not be successful.

That moment when you realize the Canadian government is basically saying “we need more token women and token Muslims in government so we can be as corrupt as possible and then call you racist and sexist if you don’t like us.” Seriously diversity of thought is a strength. But just picking people based on gender and skin color but not whether they are qualified or not is not a strength. It’s very clearly a weakness. And it’s tokenism. The people will vote for a female president when one who deserves to win runs. The idea that we should be voting for women just cause they don’t have a penis is asinine, childish, and ironically, SEXIST.

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 8-10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide dough in half. Shape each into a loaf. Place in two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, 30-45 minutes. Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bread sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

Diversity is what makes this world a better place....the United States needs to do a better job with this. When you see a photo of all our politicians here in the US, it doesn’t match up with society. For example when you go to your local mall and schools you see people from different backgrounds and cultures. How come you don’t see this diversity in positions of leadership in our government. Thanks to people like Alexandria ocasio-cortez and many others this will change.

I am a liberal, too bad Canada is turning into the US, in Ontario the Conservative Party got elected for provincial government. I hate to say this but there is a renaissance of conservatism in Canadian politics. A lot of fellow Canadians are unhappy with Trudeau (I do not know why to be honest). A lot of newcomers who are anti sex ed, anti lgbtq+ and and anti progressive ideas are super conservative and are to be blamed if Canada follows the path of US in terms of economy and politics. They voted for Trump's twin brother Mr. Doug Ford here in Ontario, this sucks.

Liberals took the number 1 economic powerhouse and put it in last place (fact) with a debt that your children's children's children won't be able to pay off. Do you understand that? You have f#cked Ontario beyond help. I doubt highly that Ford will be able to salvage it, but I doubt he could do worse if he tried. You invite with open arms an ideology that is so completely incompatible with women's rights and gays/trans basic rights, and you are, what, angry at conservatives that want to be responsible for their own children's sexual education or what the schools are filling their heads with. People see through the political manipulation/hypocrisy of so called progressive ideas, that's why they loath Trudeau.

Kris Revard I actually respect and appreciate your comment. I am a US citizen and while I am not well versed on Canada’s political climate I offer you this food for thought. Everyone in the world is operating through their own lens aka perspective. The political climate in my country is extremely toxic and divisive and I acknowledge that is a result of the rhetoric from both sides of the isle. My lens is through that of an African American woman witnessing the gross mistreatment and injustice of people of color and women. I would argue that Trudeau’s values and leadership as expressed in this interview is what we need in this country. Change is only driven forward by change makers and change does not occur without the conscious intent behind the action to move it forward. It is not easy, there will be resistance, but if this is supposed the country with opportunity for all that means leveling the playing and challenging systems that reinforce prejudice, corruption, and the disenfranchisement of certain groups. Also I would never accuse you of being some right winger. I think the answer of all of the political chaos going on will be found somewhere in the middle of the isle.

Trudeau has grown into his job as Prime Minister, he will still make mistakes and won’t be able to please all the people but he is making great strides. We have to stand behind these young men and give them support as they deal with the new problems of a world moving forward at such a fast pace. It is time to let the younger generation take the lead with the support and wisdom of the older generation. Proud of you Justin, keep moving our country forward to better things.

What has he done in terms of getting the nation out of terrible debt? What has he done for the MAJORITY of Canadians, when he seems ENTIRELY focused on the minority, Islamic, and LGTBQ agendas that are brainwashing Canadian children without parental consent? What has he done for CANADA, when he seems so focused on the refugees from OTHER nations? How does Canada economically support our 'not-so-free failing health care' AND the flood of immigrants that don't work, and love our free Welfare cheques? How is it fair and ethical that potential employers are ALLOWED to discriminate against a white males by LAW based on their skin colour alone (Equity Employment Act)? Nancy Wakling Except that everything he has done is a mistake. Tariffs on consumer goods from America - mistake. Virtue signalling ruining free trade agreement with China -mistake. India trade deal, stealing 2 billion from the Canada Pension Plan and giving it as a gift to India for 1-4 ratio trade deal. Virtue signalling losing 50 billion in deals with Saudi Arabia. Raising minimum wage to the bottom of a new tax bracket, so more money in government's pockets than those on said wage. Bombardier bailout of $2 billion to save 10,600 employees only to have 5,000 of them laid off 2 years later, while they move jobs overseas. $6.4 billion for a dead pipeline that will never be finished, and would have been done by private corporation. Immigration policy that greatly favours Muslims over Asians, or Latinos for no reason. Calling for illegals into the country, giving them free money, and shoving them in tax paid hotels with no solution of what to do with them. Paying millions to confirmed terrorist murderers. Not giving veterans what they need while $350 million was sitting stagnant in an account for them. Calling off our 4 jet Syrian bombing mission, and then putting boots on the ground endangering soldiers for no reason. This is just some without even mentioning his party's blunders in Ontario, which caused them to lose official party status in the province due to lack of seats after the last provincial elections. Not to offend, but I am guessing you like him for the women's answer. My bosses wife said she liked him "Because he looks handsome".

For every instance of misogyny, there is a counter effect of misandry. Maybe, let's say, I just want to stay at home, cook, clean, and take care of the kids. If my wife can't get a decent paying job, that's not going to happen. Menfolks: liberate yourselves from the cruel shackles of oppressive toxic masculinity!

I believe in equality and I also believe in selecting the best person for the job wither they are male or female and if they are all female great. As far as PM Trudeau not remembering the incident in which he was accused it was in a newspaper 18 years ago which by golly he doesn`t remember.

These two fools do not understand that merit is what matters, not diversity. If you are the best person for the job you should have it regardless of race, sex or religion. People should be inspired to achieve their best, not trying to pretend that everybody is the same.

"Convincing them to run for politics, which isn't easy" ... Then why go against the grain of even those you are trying to convince? I'd rather have someone who really wants to do a certain job to do that job.
