Sigh........ I've been feeln' this track for awhile now. Thank you JTE for penning a song that gives a sincere melody to depression. You're missed man. I'll stick around and fight through this. Stay here with us too folks. RIP.

Such a sweet lost soul. My husband, Scott introduced me to Justin after he built an acoustic guitar for him. I felt he was a force unlike no other. RIP JTE. Hope you make some glorious music with your namesake in the hereafter.

Justin was a force of nature. Meeting him was one of the best moments of my life. Thank you for making him a guitar and helping him reach people like me ❤️
His right hand technique is wild. One finger, and he plucks so hard it sounds like popping on a bass. My index hurts just listening.

Funny, I noticed the same thing...absolute genius with his technique...
Talent gone from us now. Poor kid. Makes me tear up with his writing.

This is one of the best pieces of music ever recorded. Please keep it here forever.
RIP 🙏 JTE we love you
I am so sad. I wanted to hear him live someday. I am really quite taken with his sweet talent and amazing gift.

I am so pleased to see such kind words written here. He was truly a talented, gifted singer song writer. One time at Mucky Duck Houston Dawn Landes was with his group, and between songs she grabbed me and we danced while Justin was singing on the tiny stage. She was so sweet. My husband was so jealous HE didn't get to dance with her. It was a song called Can't Hardly Wait. She told me, I know the words, I wish he would let me sing with him on this tune. She was happy and smiling and we were just enjoying the music. You should go to Mucky Duck Houston! On Norfolk. The food is AMAZING! Some of the best food in Houston.

@@barbaratiemeier7631 'Jesus rides beside me, never buys any smokes' loved JTEs cover of The Replacements classic, always made it sound cool esp when he did it with the mandolin and fiddle, really made the little riff in there sound even better. I've seen a lot of vids with Dawn Landes, their voices complimented each other really well.
Such a talent; such a loss. RIP, JTE.
Just discovered his music after his passing and it’s so heartbreaking he’s gone. RIP Justin. I love your music.

Same. I caught a few bars on a movie. That’s all they played. I was like I got to find that song so I stopped the movie and used Shazam. I sweated I was gonna find out where he was gonna play and go to his concert. And then…

Here also. It sucks
Looking at all these videos now, it’s crystal clear to me when he was clean and carefree, where it’s all so effortless and otherworldly (such as this one) - compared to others where he has that nervous caught-in-the-headlights, 5000 yard stare, now-what look? I prefer the former but maybe the songs were written in the latter??!? I’m so impressed, day after day, now that he’s gone. 🙏
We went to hear Justin at The Mucky Duck in Houston. Great place for music and great food! Cold beer, wines, etc!!!! Love it. We got to meet Justin and buy his CDs. What a sweet voice and gentle soul. RIP JTE! You gave us so many beautiful tunes and words!!!!
Gone way too soon, Rest in Peace Justin, your music will live forever ☘️
I fell in love with his music when I was in fourth grade, parents got a shirt signed for me while I was under 18. Got his hammers tattoo ‘d on me a few years later. Don’t know why his music changed my life but it did. Wish I got to meet him. Love him in a melancholic way though I never met him.
Tell my mama I love her Tell my father I tried Give my money to my baby to spend
This hurts my heart every time I watch it
Steve Earl is a hero, but I have to agree with David -- this rascal can sing, write and perform. This is the highest form of country (blues) music.

@@dougdavis8986 'Rascal' applies perfectly here..and what about being 90 would make you more likely to use said word? Words have their meanings no matter what age you are, some change over time but most of them stay close to the original meaning. Considering you didn't know that you must be only 2? (Is that how your logic works?) I'm being facetious there's no logic at all to what you're saying ya knobjockey so stop getting your knickers in a twist. 😚
One of the best unplugged I ever heard. RIP sux i cant watch ya live
What a unique singer , unique guitar player . He always reminded me of another musical hero of mine , also taken too soon .. Buddy Holly.

Such a great song. Such a loss.
fabulous voice great lyrics
Just great! Thanks for sharing!
absolute fire
Saw him at the El Rey in Los Angeles not long before he passed. I was hoping for many years of music. Like Amy, not to be.
Peace to the entire Towns Earl family. Too many artists leave us too soon.
I absolutely love this

Didn't think I'd ever learn it either, just practice that alternating bass all the time. Sit in front on the tv and just mindlessly repeat it. Once it becomes muscle memory the melodies are a cinch!
I hope you are at peace, but I will miss you.
Wow still jamming

Biggest factors are that it's a steel string and it's acoustic-electric. Looks like he's got magnetic pickups on that puppy and not piezo's. Lots of guitars out there that would be tonally similar.
anyone know what the guitar he's playing is?
Does anyone know the picking patterns. I’m a novis.

yup just standard tuning and just practice the travis picking slowly, it's not too difficult, good luck!
I've been following his career. I think he has something in his mouth. Like temporary dentures or something. I know he mentioned that he lost some front teeth from crack. But listen to the beginning. A lot different than his later recordings
