Fiziev started the round strong, even rocked Gaethje in the very first few seconds. But exactly at the half-way point in the round, Gaethje started landing his jab and Fiziev just looked confused, kept walking into it. Credit to Gaethje's leg kicks, he neutralized Fiziev's greatest weapon for the later round.

That gets you basically 0 points for judging. Scoring was changed. Gaethje did that just to be able to say he got a takedown.

It told me the same thing as you, but added that takedowns can contribute to higher scores in the categories of “grappling” and “aggression and octagon control”)

@Sean Matthew King But doesn't that help if it's a close round? Maybe not in this case, but plenty of people shoot for takedowns in the last seconds.

What baffles me is how Gaethje never show damage on his face. And it's not like Fiziev didn't touch him.

Fizievs power would probably translate better a weight down to feather weight. I don’t think he would lose any speed, he’s dangerous but just misses the mark at lightweight. He would do good trading blows with the guys his height too.

Fuck no Rafael is still the man and will get that belt. I'm just glad these Justin haters who don't even watch his fights got shut up bad.
