    It's wild that Justin had all these wars BEFORE the UFC. He respects his opponents too, getting mad at the refs multiple for late stoppages. Dude has a Human Services degree too, what an interesting guy.

    @@lonemaus562 This was when Justin was fairly unknown though, he was the WSOF champ but not many fans actually watched WSOF, or any other organizations other then the UFC, Bellator and ONE FC. Both Nick and Justin had a perfect record of 11-0 and Newell was moderate underdog, many people thought Newell could win this fight and many wanted him as champion for some reason, most likely since he has one arm and people find that inspiring..

    @@clapdrix72 Yep and the flinching and pain response to the one counter by Gaethje towards the end of the fight was unfortunately probably involuntarily and a direct sign of brain damage. After this fight he's not been the same anymore.

    It’s still unbelievable to see the level up that Justin’s made since losing to DP and Eddie. He is still the most vicious violent dude in the sport and now he is slick and faster than ever with insane footwork. Still doesn’t get the credit he deserves for making such drastic and dramatic improvements without compromising his brutal style. By far my all time favorite fighter to watch perform and I been watching since UFC 1. Great video

    Firmino was beating Gaethje bad until the middle of the the second round. Through pure grit Gaethje came back with bombs and blasted Firmino's head till his eye couldn't open.

    I think I've seen all this before, but I keep coming back for Highlights.. He's just a mean mf in the ring. Just relentless. And knowing that he does this for you and me (and ofc himself..), while he could wrestle half of these guys easily is insane.

    I'll never forget that cracking sound coming from Tony's leg after one of Justin's leg kicks.. I think you can sort of hear it at 16:20.. IIRC I could've sworn I heard Justin apologizing to Tony mid fight at some point for essentially wrecking the guy most of the fight. Gaethje is one of my favorite fighters but I sure do miss prime Tony.

    His best KO has to be between Vick & Barboza in my opinion. He flattened both of them. In my opinion the Barboza finish is his best though. To put a seasoned striker like Edson on his back foot so fast is impressive in itself. The KO was just icing on the cake.

    Kinda crazy how the athletic commissions let Nick Newell fight with one arm but said they would not have let Bisping fight if they would have known about him losing his eye. Dude fought like 10 times with one eye and became the champ, but had to keep it a secret. Meanwhile, Shara Bullet just got his visa and can now travel to the United States, but are they going to let him fight knowing that he only has one eye?

    You’ve really got to applaud Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier in the fact that Justin hasn’t been able to eat clean shots the same since those guys put it on him. Then, you’ve really got to applaud Justin Gaethje for evolving his game to fight in a way that offers less risk with the same reward so he’s still a complete monster
