The wheels turn inside.......the wheel covers flare out so there is enough space. I'm guessing they turned the wheel to the max and then just added an inch or so of room. You can see how far they stick out past the doors

What they should of done was make the wheel covers attached to the wheels rather than fixed to the body so they could avoid that clown car look, the illusion would only be broken when turning but lets face it the thing will most likely be parked and shown off for marketing its entire life so it wouldn't really matter anyways. It looks like they put two Toyota tercel donuts on the front smh.. Don't get me wrong they did an insane job making the thing but the initial design is where they went wrong.
