Ignoring, Devdutt calling himself a mythologist - it is still nice to see Devdutt has matured over the years. I used to find his earlier interpretations problematic. But now he speaks with real nuanced insights and clarity. Time for a real nuanced Ramayana movie to replace Adipurush from someone like GV Iyer.

The poetry written by Valmiki conveys a story though, right? I mean we all know its not all 'imaginary' but based on King Dasharatha, Prince Rama of Ikshvaku dynasty., but its a poetry at the end of the day.

In fact there is a fair consensus that Uttarkand (the 7th chapter) which talks about Luv/Kush was not part of original Ramayan and just squeezed in. You can find lot of interesting topics on why so?
