Technically he's just immune to his own powers, if he blasted his own hand it wouldn't have an effect either. (Fun fact - being brothers, both Cyclops and Havok are immune to each others' powers).

It makes absolutely no sense for her to have the beams constantly shooting when the only reason that happens to Cyclops is because of a brain injury. But the writers for this series wouldn't know because they obviously never did any research on the source material.

"That was fun. We should do that again some time." I love how Scott was uncomfortable. He loves Jean. But the moment Rogue hits on him? He was brought down by a southern belle. 😂

He wounds Rogue and Kitty in the live action film in this way. He's just been alive so long and seen so many wars that it's not easy to scare or stress him out. Jean and Charles can hypothetically trigger him to do the same.

Cyke knows something about his blast that others don't. In our eyes, there's an automatic concentration system which adjust our lens for seeing clearly at different distances. Cyke trained himself to control the blast range, damage levels, intensity of the beams and other factors purely through his concentration. Even though he can't turn his beams on or off on his own, Scott's years of learning and constant training with his blasts and other skills allowed him to control everything else, with the exception of trajectory. To deal with this situation, he masterd another ability, spacial awareness to the point it became a secondary nature of his blast.

That's what I was thinking too. Cyclops mentioned in another episode that he can't really control the intensity of his blasts without his visor.

For Cyclops, closing his eyes to stop the laser must be like trying to stop midstream. Tricky

You know, the only reason Cyclops can't control his own power is a brain injury. Rogue shouldn't have that problem.

@@allgood2000 I guess the writers completely forgot that Rogue also absorbs people's memories and skills when touching them, not just their powers. Then again, the writers didn't know that much about the comics, which resulted in them portraying Rogue as a clueless amateur who relies solely on her super strength and flight.

You'd think Cyclops would keep a spare visor in his utility belt just in case it got damaged or needed to give Rogue one.

Idk if this was known back when they did this series, but the reason cyclops can’t control his powers is because of a head injury he had when he fell out of a plane with his younger brother. So in theory Rogue should have been able to control it fully.

@BlackCatJaja Cyclops is immune to his own power. This is why the recoil doesn't tear his head off and why it doesn't just destroy his eyelids. Under normal circumstances, when he gets hit with his own power, his body just reabsorbs the energy. When Rogue absorbed his powers, she also absorbed his immunity to them.

Let’s be real, she probably wanted to kiss him for quite some time and got jealous seeing that him and Jean were together😂

If she absorbed his secondary power she shouldn't be getting tossed around and burned like that. Its a good thing closing his eyes closes the portals or she'd have blasted her eyelids off. For people that don't know, its not lasers that come out of his eyes, its pure kinetic force energy. But that's not actually his power, his actual power is there are portals in his eyes, which connect to a universe fill with nothing but that kinetic energy. His secondary power makes him immune to that kinetic energy. This is why he is able to push things with incredible force without being pushed back himself.

Usually that knocks people out, Scott woke up when she did that to him.

For there who don't get it: 1) he not died from touch, just temporary lost his powers 2) So he is not immune to the blast 3) Yes Rogue can learn a control to a blady, but right here she only know what he know. And he can't control it. After some training shes been clearly to do it better than him ever.

This implies one of two things: 1.Rogue also had a severe concussion at some point. 1.Cyclops had to consciously turn his powers off as a child.

Cyclops' power is a perfect example for one of those hypothetical scenarios that nerds ask about whether you'd take a package deal of perk + consequence. "Would you rather be able to teleport but only to your mom's bedroom, or have heat vision but never be able to turn it off?"

Cyclops cant control his power because of a brain injury. But Rogue never seems to be able to control the powers she aborbs and cant usually turn them off. So this works out.

It’s ridiculous. If she has the power he can’t be conscious and vice versa. Second, she has the memories of how to use the power. Third closing her eyes is literally the first thing she should think of.

@JVcrow44 Yes, that is absolutely correct. I had forgotten about that part. I LOVE the X-Men, especially Rogue and Nightcrawler in the 90s animated series. It never occurred to me that Rogue absorbed memories as well. I am the type of person who closely studies and scrutinizes every possible mundane detail with every scene with the shows that I watch, and it never dawned on me that Rogue absorbed their memories as well. Thanks! I guess you learn something new every day, right? Haha!

Yeah Me Her eyes are closed since she absorbed Cyclops' power. She heard him, but can't tell if he is close or not with the sound of fire around her. That's why she asked where he is.

Cyclops has no control of his heat vision because of an injury. Rogue should be in control of the heat blast.

This one I dunno what tries to personificate, unless he is a cybor and got eyes with lasers...

And everyone's praising X-Men 97 for showing Cyclops is being pushing him back when rogue showed it in these 90s episodes

That was revealed in Uncanny X-Men #138, which came out in 1981. So yeah.

Cyclops needs the visor to control his OPTIC BLASTS so with rogue not having that conduit of course she's gonna feel knock back/won't be able to control it cut Ms Sugah some slack lol.

In an alternate reality, Cyke & Rogue would be a steamy and sensual pairing. "Don't worry, I won't tell Jean." What Jean doesn't know won't hurt her, Rogue. And you enjoyed it, girl! This was liked cuz of the unintentional kiss (Yes, it was CPR, got it).

По идее, если бы лучи Роуг попали в одежду Циклопа - его бы оттолкнуло. Хотя в серии с Икс Фактором, лучи Хавока, попадая по одежде, его не отталкивали. Но вот перчатки Роуг лучи "жгли".
