Just opened Gurney Bay Park! Kids Love It! Then makan at Ah Huat Char Kway Teow, great surprise!

Follow our family outing to visit Gurney Bay Park, the latest park in Penang which opened less than a week ago. A big open park, with ample space to run, ride your bike, or skate or just take a leisurely stroll! There are 2 vantage points to look out to sea, and a skate park for the kids to rollerblade or skate or scoot! Two large structures which are the public toilet and also the playground with a large slide structure are also built for the children.
My kids had a fun time, we went in the morning but by 10am it was already getting very hot, so we raced off to our next destination: Kuantan Road's Kedai Kopi 1921 which has many stalls such as char koay teow, wanton mee, Hokkien mee, mee goreng, and curry mee.
Unfortunately some stalls were closed or had finished because it is only 2 days till Chinese New Year! I guess it was a lucky break for me because I ordered the CKT which was actually very good and it was my first time trying it.
Worth the trip, we had fun and good food this morning.

Great place for a stroll of run. I think in a few years it will be better when the trees have grown taller!

Hahahaha this year very hard to find RM5 new notes! Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family! I think after 2nd or 3rd day then the hawkers will reopen. Then we can go makan again!

Yeah, they planted a lot of trees but they are just saplings. I think it will take a while to grow into big shady trees! I think going in the evening is better and drink more water! Happy CNY!

Went one day after CM officially opened GB. But went at night. Got no views to look at 😂. But is cooler to walk at night. Plus the kids playground and skate park were hits at night. Full house.

I think it is a nice big park which is long overdue... the only other parks we have are Taman Belia and the Bptanic Gardens. I am glad they didn't just build more shopping malls on this reclaimed land.

@@pishedbloke it's really good to have a big park, especially at the seaside. Padang kota esplanade park also have reopened with newly revamped look, no more playground for kids. War memorial no more fence. Anyway forgot to mention how crazy to find parking when I went that night at gurney bay because there were so many people
