Was the goal here to make something way more complicated and messy than it needs to be? I've made fires for +40yrs and never needed a shredder, soap, gas, wax paper, rubber gloves...... I'll never understand people who complicate such mundane simple tasks.

Mix some used motor oíl with it and congratulations, you have molotov Mix
Old truckers trick to fix a leaking ruptured gas tank from e.g. turning around 3 point and backing into rock that ruptures or cause gasoline tank to partially split on seam. Bar of soap rubbed really hard and fast from under vehicle at point of leakings, will possibly be good enough temporary fix to get your vehicle driving to shop before gas leaks out.
This is an idea. If y'all are concerned about the smell, don't use it. I think it's a great way to start a fire in an emergency situation. Thank you, my good sir, for showing and sharing this idea.
@meh276

So in an emergency situation you're going to have soap, petrol, a cheese grater and a mixing bowl with you? Are you really going to bother wasting time doing all this, or are you just going to use petrol if you have it to start the fire?

Incredible Innovation: This video showcases an incredible innovation where the simple combination of gasoline and soap leads to something remarkable. It's a testament to human creativity and ingenuity.
Thank you for an idea that I will never do
Fabric strips soaked in paraffin or cotton balls coated with Vaseline will do about the same, but much easier and probably safer.
save your dryer lint also it does a good job
So gas is flammable. That is good information to know the next time my friends and I are lighting up at the refinery.
Just soak a piece of the the wood lightly in the gas...
You can use dryer lint as a fire starter. No gas smell.
I love the smell of gasoline in the morning 😅

Ever heard of wax, beeswax, does similar, way way less toxic and smells way say better? Candle wax works great too, comes with a handy melting device, the wick, just light and molten wax magically appears, spread on paper or wood, job done. Unless you're a fan of toxic explosive fumes, your choice. The wax also waterproofs yhr paper or wood , very useful in damp conditions. May I respectfully ask you (the content creator) to remove this from KZread and release on TikTok where it maybe better received ...

Cotton balls covered in Vaseline would have burned cleaner and would have worked just as better.
I collect the remains of wax candles that I melt and add sawdust from my table saw and other saws and mix and put the mixture in cupcake tin and when it’s hard put them in storage until I use them. They don’t smell of gas and work great.
Also the way we made napalm in the Marine Corps, in the sixties.
Can't I use paper
Just pouring used cooking oil or wax over your wood will help. No need for mixing.
I saw them do this in a documentary about the Korean War. Napalm before DuPont did their better living through chemistry magic

Soap and gasoline is basically Napalm!
Living on a farm 70 years ago we used crumpled newspaper and water to make a paper maché. Then added paraffin (kerosene). Made little balls and left them out to dry. Made excellent firelighters for the wood burning stove.
@NancyWare-kp9zl
Ай бұрын
Yup. Only I used the cardboard egg cases. Fill them with wood shavings or sawdust and pour melted wax into each hole until it is full. When dry, cut the carrier into pieces, making sure each piece has a piece of the cardboard sticking out. Now you have firestarter balls. Light😊 that cardboard and put under your kindling, and you have fire. Enjoy.
@johnnelson8714

Same here. But we used the cardboard egg cartons filled with sawdust and shavings then filled them with old candle wax. Worked great when the wood was damp to wet and paper with dry kindling just wasn't enough.
