Casey is hands down the best KZread video editor there is. His videos and the way he films and edits them are leagues above everyone else's. He puts so much thought and time into so many shots in each video. I can't imagine the time it takes to set up your camera in so many different spots and film the shot then walk back and pick it all up and then somehow go home and make it all flow together into a seamless vid. @caodesignworks2407
Жыл бұрын
@@marcuswang1 So many angles and shots in public. I'm pretty sure he handles them all himself. Especially since he travels alone a lot. I mean, look at his running shots. He runs up, places the camera, hit's timer or record. Runs up to and then out of the frame only to stop, turn the camera around, and continue shooting as he runs away from the camera. I don't think anybody else is helping him with most of his shots, so either he's carrying a gopro or two around with him or he's setting up his shots before/ after his morning run. Either way, what he does with just a go pro or two is pretty amazing. Especially how he (likely intentionally) edits all of the clips together. LIke, when he's rushing to the airport, the camera is all over and there are dozens of different shots pieced together to sew a feeling of chaos. And then when things settle down a bit, it's one continuous scene. And then to the wave pool. long shots of people talking until you get to the chaos of the pool in which you get multiple shots from multiple angles, from shore, drone, board mounted, etc... I'd bet in those last scenes he had other people helping film, though. At the very least, the guy holding the camera as he surfed up and grabbed it.
@alexiscuarezma
Жыл бұрын
@@caodesignworks2407 yes, I'm sure he does it himself too as you said. A lot of them are set up like at 3:08 to 3:20 . He's by himself. So he had to setup the camera first, then walk back and essentially act/pretend like the camera was already there and pass frame. Then walk back to pick up the camera. When he walks out of the sliding doors, he had to place the camera there first, and leave it recording. Then walk back in and act it out. That takes SO much time and effort to do. Props to him too for not giving a fuck what people think of him b/c that probably looks so weird seeing someone film themselves like that.

Awesome work man.

@alexiscuarezma

This man is the reason I’m vlogging our family trip around the world. Thank you Casey, true inspiration.
This entire vlog was a visual FEAST. The pacing, the music, the shots... Casey really still is the master, at the top of his game!
The foreshadowing about the rental company making a mistake giving you the sports car, the way he told time, the feelings and thoughts, montages, the pace... Casey's storytelling is so gooood
Im going to be honest, I knew I missed waking up with the original vlogs that I watched almost all of them as they came out, but I didn't realise how much I had missed Casey in my life in general and the way that Casey shoots! Glad ur back Casey, keep it up!!
Watching your videos again like in the 'old days'...oh man its like coming home... needed this sooo much ... and this way of storytelling.. one of a kind... my winter is saved
Setting up the camera to capture the elevator door opening on the opposite side was a great example of his passive aggressive approach to life's little frustrations. He's always been great at capturing that stuff.
I actually didn’t realize how much I missed these mini-movie-vlogs from Casey until like two weeks ago when I noticed he’s uploading regularly again.. and now I am looking forward to a new video basically every day haha Thanks Casey and I hope it helps you as much as it surely does some of us to have these vlogs :)
Travel tip: fill your 1L water bottle after security using one of the filter stations or a water fountain. I've never had trouble with it and it goes around needing to buy water to take on the plane ☺️
