Great, and pay them $75,000 to $150,000 per year off the pockets of the people that might make $40,000 to $70,000 if fortunate. Also great if they are required to actually learn how to assess where to police from a frame of constitutionality and recognize situational degrees of dangers. Too many of todays cops have delusions of grandeur, bullying demeanor, and heightened senses of being above the law.

An "officer" hit a 16 year old girl in an intersection.. His comment was.. "she had limited value.. Write a check". Another.. OK.. A man and his wife were arguing.. The "cops" showed up.. They knew the victim was unarmed. He was drunk and upset. They made him crawl at gunpoint to them.. As he was crawling.. His pants were falling down and he was pulling them up by the side and he was shot and killed.. They knew he was unarmed. Another one.. There was an accident.. The scared woman was trying to comply and not die but it didn't work because a "officer" jumped in front of her car and officer safetied her by shooting through the window then claimed she was attempting to flee... At 3mph with her wheel not in the direction of the idiot whom "officer safetied" her. I guess they are just supposed to write checks every time they end a life unjustly.. Sounds like.. All crimes are commercial.. Why are they "charging" a legal fiction.. A strawman.. A dead thing? Are they the ones who need a mental evaluation? I think so.

What about conservatives who want accountability from police, and feel that qualified immunity is misused. I fully support police and law and order, but police incompetence is driving a divide between the police and we the people. Bad cops are putting good cops in danger, but Police have a culture and code of silence that leads them to protecting the bad ones rather than weeding them out. This a systemic issue that is driven by a complete and total lack of accountability for police. When police do wrong, whether its excessive force, unlawful arrest, or even just blatant retaliation, they often end up ruining people's lives, but despite breaking the law themselves, they face no accountability. In most cases there will be a settlement that is paid by the tax payers. This country by and large loves police, and we funnel tons of money to support them. This problem with bad Police is systemic, good cops often cannot call out their bad coworkers without ruining their career opportunities.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, you sound like you need to combine the bills and find compromises.

Given law enforcement is funded by taxpayer dollars I have zero issues with a universal officer misconduct registry I also firmly believe that taxpayers have to pay the settlements when cops don’t do the job appropriately so qualified immunity needs to be less burdensome to get over as a hurdle I’m willing to support cops, but cops themselves need to be standing up against the piece of shit cops that are giving the rest of them a bad name

I believe in mostly Republican views and policies and I'm ok with them trying to pass bills for the safety and wellness of Law Enforcement. However, policing in this country is a joke! police in Russia do not get away with a tenth of what police in America do. There is literally hardly any to very rare accountability. Police are most definitely not held to a higher standard. They investigate themselves and very rarely if ever find any wrongdoing. and if they do it's usually a slap on the wrist and a paid vacation and in some cases a promotion in rank. the worst of it all is when they do violate rights or misconduct and are litigated against it is the taxpayers flipping the bill. What about all of the people police kill a lot of which are not criminals. Daniel Shaver, Devin Gulliford, Kelly Thomas, Justine Diamond, Tony Timpa...etc...etc Qualified immunity needs to be done away with!!! If the government is going to try and pass more bills protecting themselves, they damn well better pass some bills protecting civilians from them!
