JUST A PEAK... AT PEAKS CHALLENGE 2024

Join me on an unexpected adventure at Falls Creek, the heart of the Peaks Challenge 2024. Despite initially planning to participate fully, I opted out but couldn't resist the call of the mountains. This video captures my journey as I tackle the formidable last climb back into Falls Creek, a decision that tested every fiber of my being. I was faced with two routes and, perhaps mistakenly, chose the one I believed was less challenging. It turned out to be a grueling test of endurance and a revealing insight into my current fitness level.
This ride was more than just a physical challenge; it was a moment of clarity on what areas I need to focus on to improve my cycling performance. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist, someone interested in the Peaks Challenge, or just looking for a bit of adventure and stunning scenery, this video offers a taste of what it's like to push your limits in one of Australia's most iconic cycling locations.

Yeah it was possibly not the better choice. But I did get a taste! Thanks for the Sub!

The back of Falls was a warzone on the day. I lost a solid half hour on it with explosive cramping in every muscle in both legs. I've never seen so many hyper fit people cramping, crying, puking, paperboying and walking their bikes. Sooo hot and not a breath of wind. Out of the hundred or so people who passed me while i sat in a ditch with both legs completely ridgid with cramp I didn't see one person motoring up the climb. Just pure purgatory, pedal stroke after pedal stroke trying not to have a stroke. Still crawled in for a 9hr 13 min finish. Guess I'll have to come back for the sub 9... One day 😂
