Bless the algorithm; I'm utterly fascinated by this sport I had never heard of until it came up in my recommendeds.

i live in California, in the United States. This is my first time ever watching Bowls and I am absolutely HOOKED!

I went up to bed early last night because I wasn't feeling well.. and somehow stumbled onto this. I watched the entire video and it was amazing! I got totally sucked in, was cheering, fist pumping... loved every moment! I can't even get out how much fun it was to watch.. Just woke up, still feel bad, but I'm going to watch at least 2 hours more of these, then I'm going to get an idea of what it'd cost to go see this in person. I will also price out a jersey, because they're like nothing I've ever seen. Man, I really loved watching this!! (Georgia, US)

Absolutely love this sport I played this sport for 14 years then had to give it up due to work still watch it on TV

I was amazed watching this! After an end I would say "I'll save this and watch it later" and then keep on watching! We have lawn bowling where I live , not sure of indoor though, but I am going to try this sport out!👍🦂🥂

Marshall's got a bit of subtle gamesmanship in him; at least twice he was kicking balls around behind (and toward) the green bowler as he was in the process of his delivery.

you are wrong, they are clapping and cheering him sarcastically because of how bad the roll was. the goal in this sport is to get the least amount of claps while still having at least one person clap. theres a couple moments where one guy claps, THESE are the big time rolls. obviously im being dumb and just messing around. nothing wrong with your comment or excitement and im not saying any of this with any negativity towards you.

This is the only sport with a constant death count of 1 and over at each event.

Brilliant final, just a pity after tatt marshal pulled out that wonderful draw against match lie in the tie break, just a pity tatt and fozzy played a stinker of a final end in the tie break. Credit to nicky brett and greg harlow for playing an exellent final end in the tie break to win the title, well played to them. I must say with the way the green bowls were lying in the very last end tatty marshal and paul fozzy foster did not play heavy weight and bust up the centre. With having the last bowl it would have opened up the end. Played themselves into jail on the final end. Overall thourally enjoyable final.

I think they spray it to mark that the bowl has touched the jack because if the are bowled or knocked long, into that back ditch they are "dead" and don't count for scoring unless they have touched the jack. So they need to know if the bowl has touched the jack in case it, or the bowls get knocked into the back pit. Not 100% on this, never watched this before and the rules I could find online were not the best explanation. As to WHAT it is they spray it with, no idea. Also if I'm wrong someone please correct me, I want to know too.

Why is the audience so old? I am sure the youth can appreciate this sport as well.

I guess I'm confused as to the rules. On the 4th set they mention that if the ball goes in the ditch it goes to the respawn. Yet the ball goes into the ditch and they keep the ball in the ditch along with Harlow/Brett's ball and they collect the point. How does that work?

If a bowl hits the jack on its way down the green it is called a TOUCHER and is marked with chalk or spray, and even if it goes in the end ditch during the rest of that end it is still live, and can be counted if necessary when the END is complete. If any Bowl including the TOUCHER goes outside the lane boundaries then it is DEAD and cannot be counted. Wondered the same thing so did a quick google search..

Keep in mind this is at a holiday resort that is very popular with our older generation to relax at and enjoy a good top class bowls match as well.

They spray chalk, to mark a "Toucher", a bowl which made physical contact with the jack. These bowls will still be alive and counted, even when they end up in the ditch. By extention, the other bowls don't.

The red team as you call them is Paul Foster and Alex Marshall,they both have MBE'S and have one 13 world championships between them and just about everything there is to win in the indoor and outdoor game of bowls in the last twenty years ,so I think they have an idea about the game and how to play it .
