Jurgen Klopp + Andy Robertson | Talking mental health for Heads Up

Спорт

Watch as Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Andy Robertson sit down to discuss dealing with setbacks, the supportive culture at Liverpool FC, and their mutual experiences of losing loved ones who never saw them make it in the game as part of the Heads Up #SoundOfSupport series.
Heads Up is a season-long campaign, harnessing the power and influence of football to change the conversation on mental health. Through the Heads Up #SoundOfSupport series, we will keep breaking the silence around mental health - showing that talking about how we feel and what we’re going through is more important than ever, and encouraging everyone everywhere to make their support heard by those who need it.

As with any skill, it requires practice! But it's realising you need to learn to communicate your mental health with yourself and others that is most difficult for a lot of people, especially when western society/culture hasn't fully integrated its importance on par with physical health. Then there's the attitude towards men which is still perpetuated; took me a long time to separate myself from that and realise how necessary it is to address mental health issues.

And this is why I love Jurgen Klopp. Human, wise, insightful. You feel like he actually listens and takes on board what you're saying, which is what every good boss should do. Loved this conversation. Hits home what they're saying. Taking on too much, not talking about how you're feeling. It's very easy to get bogged down by life but talking does help, particularly when you feel like you're being listened to.

Celtic must look at him now and say “who the fuck told him he was shite” you dont need to be 18 stone and built like a brick shit house to be a footballer. if your good enough you are good enough. well done Andy and congratulations Liverpool 👍🏻

Just like Jürgen said : You have to talk. That is why I came up a long time ago with the idea that everybody should visit the psychologist at least once a month. If everybody had to do it - it would feel normal and nothing special anymore and people with low self esteem wouldn't need to feel less of a normal human being ''because they have to go to therapy''. And then imagine how many people it would help. Depression and other mental illnesses lead to lots of bad things like injuring other people, self-injuring and damage to property what all costs a huge amount of money. Instead of using that money after things happened - it could be spent for mental health empowering institutions like psychologists and more. Think about that.

To Prince William and Prince Harry, In England Wales and Northern Ireland 1. biochemical oxygen demand 2.dissolved oxygen and 3.ammonia levels are monitored in rivers. But in Scotland 4. iron and 5. pH are, too. Please can you advocate for these two to be monitored also in England Wales and Northern Ireland? I have been advocating for clean water since before I attended elementary school. Open University's free OpenLearn is helping me reach my goals to be more viable in dialogue about clean water for all God's children which not coincidentally has been the name for a while now of my old blog. Thank you. Have a nice day. G'bless you both.
