I actually met the guy who played Tim on a zoom call, Joe Mazzello, he mentioned that the velociraptor kitchen sequence was shot on his birthday and the one raptor on wheels knocked him in the head with its claw. Right after checking he was ok, Spielberg got everyone to sing happy birthday. Love that even years later the cast is clearly proud of the work they did on this film ❤️

Man I always felt so bad for Hammond at the end of this film. He looks so genuinely heartbroken as he takes one last look at his island. His idea was really neat but Ned just had to go fuck everything up. I guess if the park did open though, the bullshit that went down in the first Jurassic world movie woulda eventually happened, but prolly in the early 2000s or even late 90s instead of 2015. Greed is always a part of human nature regardless of when you are.

With the eggs that Grant found in the jungle it was evidence that no matter what happened, Jurassic Park was doomed from the start. In the novel dinos already made it to the mainland, that's what caused Hammond to need to get approval from some guests (i.e Malcolm, Grant, Ellie) and endorse it to put investors at ease. Even if Nedry was even more devoted than Hammond and worshipped park security and his job, Jurassic Park would never have lasted more than a couple weeks if opened to the public.

Well actually the Raptor's escape was on Hammond for pushing on resetting the systems as the first thing they checked when they found out Dennis messed up the systems was the Raptor pens which was still working. Even Muddoon commented when ne saw that the Raptors escaped that Dennis wasn't stupid enough to shut down the electricity to the raptor pen.

Fun Fact: During the shooting for the T. Rex breakout scene, the water from the rain effects accidentally soaked into the mechanisms of the animatronic for the Rex, which would cause it to move more erratically than it was supposed to. Initially, it was never intended to actually break through the roof of the car. So when Lex and Tim were pinned against the car seats with only a few inches of glass between them and one of the biggest animatronics in film history? Pure, genuine screams of terror.

Point of interest - early in the film Genarro asks the head miner where is Hammond and he replies 'he wanted to be with his daughter she's getting a divorce' - the daughter is Tim and Lex's mother, which makes the 'he left us' line hit all the deeper...

  • @leiderhosen7110

10:00 Fun fact, in the novel this was actually explained. One of the many defects caused by the frog DNA was poor eyesight similar to an amphibian, rather than a predatory reptile. Grant didn't realize the tyrannosaurus was myopic until he was out of the car and froze due to terror, realizing after the t-rex started sniffing around and nudging the car, that she could tell there was someone there but was unable to locate him as long as he was motionless. Grant identifies the reason due to his knowledge of biology. This gets subverted in The Lost World, where everyone assumes the dinosaurs are blind but discover successive generations of unchecked breeding not only eradicated several defects and made their DNA more "pure", but produced other mutations as well, such as adaptive camouflage. Edit: Other fun facts: in book the adult was paired with a juvenile to keep her company and it was the baby that killed the driver, and the dilophosaurus was an enormous 8-feet tall and ripped Nedry's guts out while he was still alive.

You don't research to something you don't even know exists. So many succesful movies have lesser known novels. Novels and movies are very different. Movies are all about being visually pleasing (usually), whilst novels are about your own imagination and as such don't rely on that. Its not out right terrifying like other horror movies but if you tell me that the water rippling and raptors in the kitchen sequence dont build tension like a horror movie then I dont know what to tell you. @@charlies_videos2966 I think you're trying to hard to back up a mistake in the movie. The goat is on even ground. There is no moat between the goat and the fence and the t Rex got the goat then and is rubbing on the fence to test it then walks through. There was a large enough tree to catch the jeep, and there was no walking space between the wall and this tree, so that goat that was released obviously on even ground and less than 30 feet from the wall, the drop never existed originally but was added later as a mistake. if there was a moat it would be past the tree. With how large that tree was, the most would at least be 30 feet away from the wall.

I had toys, blankets, pillow cases, lamps, everything and when I first saw Jurassic Park, I immediately fell in love with it. I didn’t get scared at all because I was zoned in and amazed at how real the dinos looked that I even thought they were real at one point. This movie will forever hold a special place in my heart and no matter how many times I watch it, I get more and more amazed by the special effects and CGI they used.

I mean, Rexys vision problems are due to she is a mutant clone. However, the movie told it as if it were something that real T-REXES suffered from.

Fun to see James get so excited about this movie. Jurassic Park is actually my favorite movie of all time so I can truly appreciate James' energy here. I saw it multiple times in the theatre as a kid (We had a dollar theatre down the street from our house, where I saw it probably 4 times) and I've seen it probably at least a hundred times since. I was a big lover of dino's when I was young so this movie just spoke to me and as an adult I learned to truly appreciate everything else such as the music, special effects, character moments, etc. It's such a masterpiece and I never get tired of watching it. Thanks for making this Kill Count!
