I really doubt that seymour knew what the tank was, i mean, he's a dog after all. It makes sense that he would wait in front of the pizzeria for him to return after all he saw him. It also makes sense that fry wud assume that he lived a full life. He was so extremely focused on getting his dog back that it didn't even occur to him that he lived on whitout him, and when he found out he did, it shattered his need to get him back, he let go of the past because the past went on without him and so did Seymour. That's my interpretation anyway
Thank you for this. Way too much attention is given to this episode and it has an undeserved reputation as the “saddest” episode just because of the sappy last minute and the fact its “sad wholesome doggo :(” when there are so many episodes that delve into fry’s past that are sad AND deeper, or really good dramatic ones like The Sting
Jurassic Bark? Overrated? NO Way it's one of my favorite episodes to Futurama emotional episodes
That ending still hits me just as hard as the first time, but I would agree that it feels like that they made a sad ending for the sake of making a sad ending. Trying to elicit an emotion from your viewers is fine, but that ending makes it feel like they were really trying to double down on the sad.
Oh, boy, the year 2000 does feel like 1000 years ago. I agree, I always preferred Luck of the Fryrish even though I tend to stay away from the schmaltzy eps.
5:54 that line is hilarious congratulations, that has such a futurama vibe to it even, I can easily see it adapted to fit in the characters mouths as dialogue
Yeah, I think it's...alright too. I dunno, maybe Seymour can sit in front of the cryogenics tube.
Two parts on seymour waiting on fry like that. One he's a dog which probably doesn't know what the tank is. He knew fry would always come back to the pizzeria 2 he wasn't a dumb dog either he tried going to the tank and it was taken from bad reviews from frys family and the workers. He did something that he knew and felt comfortable. Dogs are extremely loyal and have done similar things when their owners passed. Yes it only is really sad too us but I think it's perfect for it.
If it makes you feel any better, Seymour didn’t technically die waiting for Fry, he was hanging out with Fry from an alternate timeline until 2012
Yes
Frankly I disagree but I respect your opinion… kinda
No I refuse to accept this 😭 this story was really sad
I just kinda lost my love for this episode because it was THAT episode. You know, the one that for some reason was always the episode on when you went "Hey look Futurama is on!" And switched to it. Oh it's Jurassic Bark again.
Congrats on hitting two of your milestones! you put up some great videos, I brought up the fanboy chum chum picked over adventure time fact the other day to my brother, keep up the good work!
Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh Nnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooo.
You are giving a dog way too much IQ to realize that he was in a cryogenic freezer. Completely disagree with this video.
TBf it was a stolen story as it was anyway. Hachikō was the original story it was based on.

Nothing is original. Everyone takes influences from across culture, with writers having borrowed from movies, books, myths, personal experiences, fiction and nonfiction for centuries. Take the movies Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down for example. Despite having almost the same exact plot, they were both released within 3 months of eachother. It's incredibly unlikely the writers of two seperate scripts copied eachother at the same time. Just because a story is similar to another doesn't mean it was "stolen." Even if you could somehow isolate yourself from any potential influence--perhaps living in the woods and teaching yourself how to read and write--most stories that you'd come up with would probably have been dreamt up already. There's an old Latin phrase from the Bible: "nihil sub sōle novum." it means "there's nothing new under the sun." As a writer, I'd go crazy trying to come up with "100% original" material. What you do instead is take an existing idea, warping, bending, and modifying it until you create something novel. You're lauded as creative when you suceed, and lambasted as a talentless hack when you fail. I'm pretty sure "dog waits for owner until it dies, but it's the year 3000" is different enough to be the former.
Overrated? yeah, sure, edgy hipster boy...
