We love it too, unfortunately don't have the title for it yet so holding off investing time and money into it until the title issues are figured out.

I'd argue that road going Porsches are more well known for being rear engined (aka 911) as opposed to mid engined, but the Boxster and Cayman did help bring the mid engine back ala 914.

I would have to agree. The 911 are definitely the most well known.

The 924's are notorious for the A pillar cracking right where the door hinges bolt on. If left go too long it causes major issues with closing the doors

Oh thats a 1981 Weissach Edition, they only made 400 of them...i just got one in my garage. It has early 944 guages though(yellow guages) so the dash was replaced at some point.

Ohh wow. I was not aware of the Weissach edition! It definitely could be one. From the condition of the car I would not be surprised if the dash had been completely replaced.

Worse case you can probably double your money in the wheels alone(4 lug "basket weave" wheels are pretty rare) and more if the interior is decent

Originally bought it for the rims so that is always an option. Still have hope we can get it running though! More motivated now that I know it's a special edition.

@@redheadgarageI had a 79 924 Sebring Edition, which is another low production with just 1804 built but it was not as rare as yours is. The 924's have problems with the A post cracking right where the door hinges are bolted on.

I'd like to see it run. If it does, it's definitely worth fixing up.

Sucks having to fish thru someone else's funky wiring. I bought a 928 last yr that had a trunk full of stereo equip, along with an alarm system and radar detector. Enough wires to wire the lunar module. Good luck getting the 924 started. I would bypass the fuel tank cuz you don't want to get gunk in the FI system. It's finicky enough when it's running well. Are you using Rennlist as a source for info?

I have stumbled onto Rennlist a few times, need to go try using it more actively though. I've been using a Haynes manual to try and figure out wiring and verify information mostly.

No updates. This project has been set aside until we can locate the correct US spec distributor or we give up the search and rewire the car to use the EU spec one that is currently installed.
