We all know him, we all love him: Baloo - Mowgli’s constant companion from the Jungle Book. Did you know that the role models for Baloo are the sloth bears of India? Surprisingly, not much is known about this secretive species. They are mostly nocturnal animals and very shy. Over a period of three years and in more than 200 days in the field, Oliver Goetzl and Ivo Nörenberg not only were lucky enough to film these elusive creatures at daytime, but got also behaviour that was even not known to scientists so far, like the mouth feeding of cubs by their mothers.

wow! I thought the Asian black bear was the inspiration of baloo, but then again i never read the original Kipling novel, I should though I hear its a master piece

Been looking for it for over 10 years, i know the composers but cant find the song. The music is a work of art, classic indian instruments like sitar and flute

Size, strength, bite force, personalities, polar opposites.
Why not use drones instead of a balloon? There's no fun in smashing one's head against a rock in such conditions.

Because this video is shoot in 2010/ 2012 and at that time the drones camera was not commom
