In the industry and the world we live in nowadays Jungkook is such a rare gem, love that he always brokes that K-pop idol mold. So true about the tattoos and piercings, I feel like it was such a cultural shift in kpop when he first got his sleeve, with how conservative sk can still be about tattoos or body modifications in general, he really stood his ground and showed so much confidence despite the backlash from sk people, netizens, and even fans who tried to police him back in 2019/2020. Tbh I feel like after that whole ordeal and the public perception switched to the majority of “he looks great, stop telling people what to do with their bodies, you don’t own idols”, I see a lot more idols flaunting their new tattoos and getting huge, noticeable pieces. And I’m not talking just about solo or groups not directly in the public, but big groups that get a lot of public attention, someone I can think of rn is Chaeyoung from twice, she has a beautiful spine tattoo and more covering her arms. It’s amazing that idols feel more comfortable expressing themselves without the fear of totally being outcasted or hated/ridiculed, even though you can’t stop 100% of it ofc, but I feel like Jungkook had to go through those trials and tribulations first, and grew into himself to be a sort of ‘guide’ or inspire other people, subconsciously or not because him getting his tattoos and piercings being apart of bts, sk’s biggest group, definitely made huge controversies and talks. I admire how strong willed JK is, and that as time goes on you see him mature more and stand on his word regarding himself and his artistry, kind of like Namjoon, in different ways ofc, but so impactful in the kpop industry 💜

I love his music I have been listening to standing next to you seven both versions of 3-d, euphoria, there’s other solo song which is called Begin and the rest of his songs and sound cover. He has been doing. It’s very awesome to see how far he’s come since the debut area when BTS first debuted, it’s kind of sad to see artist having to do with the way the company wants us instead of the way they want to do it all because the company has policies, but I’m kind of glad JK did it. jungkook has completely left the box of a kpop idol so naturally, he has always been himself. that’s why he’s the only korean soloist the world sees as a global popstar, he doesn’t subscribe to the toxic kpop ideals and doesn’t try to break them in an obscene flashy way either. he’s just normal lol

And now that SEVEN song is breaking records everywhere and still is until now. Those haters are just people who are jealous of his success. And Jungkook gained more fans outside the fandom. Actually 4 of my co workers started listening to his music and was disappointed to learn that he’s going to the military. That’s how JK touched people’s lives and I’m so proud of him 💜

jungkook is doing a lot of work to break the infantilism of asian men. how is he 26 going to be 28 then 30 still being treated like a child/baby? he can be sweet and cute whilst fans also understanding that he f*cks and/or has no problem talking about it publicly since it’s a natural human activity for adults. the truth is jungkook has outgrown many of the fans beloved narrative, they want to see him as a baby, as afraid of women. and everything in his solo chapter goes against that. especially 3D. he obviously does not like those narratives and find it disrespectful and i hope army finally grows up before he truly leaves the people who disrespect him behind. he’s trying to show us kindly and slowly right now who is he and is asking us to let go of the almost decade old 17-21 year old jk we once knew. he’s asking us to love him for who he is, not this image fans are stuck obsessing over, he’s such a good and kind person because i’d just tell fans to get a life if they tried to box me in lol

I have such tender feelings for Jungkook. There is something so vulnerable about him. He’s honest and introspective and seems deeply loving, but also in need of that unconditional love that you spoke about. I sense that he truly cares about ARMY, and because of that he inevitably feels as though he is controlled by us to some extent. Your analogy of the parent/child relationship was perfect. I say he should have released the explicit only. Then a week later the "clean". Let it sink to everyone that JK is exploring with music. He should be able to release what he wants that one word is still implied in the clean version anyways. With how well Seven the explicit version is still doing months after release.

i think it also is important to consider that if rapline or if even any of the other members released an explicit version of a song, people would be shocked, but not nearly as shocked as i think people were by jungkook doing it. jungkook is a 26 year old man who was raised in the public eye, he knows his image is of the maknae. like he can't exactly just disregard his image as the maknae of bts, but he wants to show that he is still an adult with his own opinions. jungkook has always been open about wanting to have an honest and transparent dynamic with army, and his weverse lives are proof of the clear growing pains he's experienced with having to grow up within the mold of the kpop industry. from him cursing saesangs to getting tattoos to disagreeing with the implication that sex is "dirty". of course jungkook wants to continue to have a loving relationship with army, to continue this relaxed friendship, but he's always been extremely obvious with his boundaries. he knows when he's tired. he knows his limits on drinking. he will continue to love the army that love and accept him back. at the end of the day, he will always be an idol - a kpop idol at that. he knows the industry well, he grew up in it and has seen the ugly parts of it. he knows that he can't go too far with wanting freedom away from the demands of the kpop industry, especially due to his pride of being a korean idol who has made it in the 8 main music markets (predominantly western markets at that). it's what he means when says he knows he can't just do "everything" he wants. that's unrealistic of a desire. but, he wants to take what he can get as far as "freedom" of expression goes, and he wants to be able to release songs that might have sexual implications in it (7, 3D) just like any 26 year old artist while still being able to release music without any sort of implications (SNTY, the rest of the album). he wants to have a casual dynamic with army where he doesn't have to worry about overly obsessed fans. these requests are far more attainable goals, and there's a reason why he's highlighting them specifically, especially after the infantilization and the stalking that seemed to sprout all of golden era. and again, while they're not exactly reachable, especially at this stage in his career where he's constantly being judged and talked about at every corner: it's fun for him to think about. while it's easy to assume that what jungkook said during the live is because he was drunk - i do agree that i think he would've said it regardless. he's always been pretty open about how he feels about things, and truthfully: there's nothing of any controversial note anyways. he even acknowledges not everyone is gonna be happy with him and the decisions he makes, but he wants to live the way he wishes to. people can feel the way they want about it, but it's not going to change how he personally feels about it.
