see carefully. the value of c is 5 in the equation of the parabola but, in case of the intersection, it's 4.
I'm taking august 26 sat and I'm scared :( I have a 1430, but I really want a 1550. For past sat tests I've been using for practice, I've been scoring 1530-1580, so maybe I'm ok. You answered the last question wrong, as at the very end you did 8^2 + 20^2 = AD^2 which in the right triangle would be equivalent to a^2 + c^2 = b^2. The correct answer would have been 20^2 - 8^2 = AD^2 leaving you with 336 as x.

@JayAhuja014

to get the y^2-6 into the (y-k)^2 form, you complete the square on the y^2-6y. (-6/2)^2 = 9, so you add 9 to both sides and then you are able to factor y^2-6y+9 into (y-3)^2. In this question though, its asking for area, so don't bother factoring it, just complete the square and see what you get on the right side, and find the area using the radius.
