Just came across these videos while doing my daily SAT Prep for October. I just began practicing as soon as break started in order to reach a score of 1500+ especially since my academics are great other than me doing poorly on the PSAT. I’ve been practicing on Khan Academy for the past week and I’ve improved. I’m currently practicing Graphing linear functions which I completely don’t understand but know that these videos serve as a guidance looks like I can binge to this to increase my understanding on math on hopefully get a 700+ on the math section. Thank youuu

You may have to correct me on this, but I believe your solution to the Vertex Formula is wrong. You say that the answer is 4 but that would not make sense as if you plug in the values: (-2)^2 + 4(-2) + 8 = 4 -8 + 8 = 4. That is wrong as it should be 0. The answer should be 6 instead as when you plug it in: (-2)^2 + 6(-2) + 8 = 4 -12 + 8 = -8 + 8 = 0 which matches the description in the question, in which an x value of -2, results in a y of 0.

Where did you get -2 ? The value of x isn't given, we are only given the coords of Vertex, not x-roots.

@@vishtoxic5928 The vertex is NOT a solution to a function, so you cannot substitute that for x. The vertex formula is -b/2a, and in the equation x^2 + Ax + 8, a = 1 (coefficient of x^2) and b = A (coefficient of x) So you plug in those values to the formula and you get -A/2, which is equal to the x coordinate of the vertex, -2. So -A/2 = -2 when simplified leaves you with A = 4, so that is the right answer…

@@harshithn4810 why would the vertex not be a solution to a function? The vertex lies on the function and is therefore a viable option to calculate the equation. What you say isn't wrong, but by calculating A by using the derivative you completely ignore the fact that c has to be equal to 8.

Yes because everyting on the paper math sat is same on the digital except for imaginary numbers

If sin and cos are not already equal to each other, then you have to set them equal by bringing cos to other side.
