I had a jumping spider that lived inside my cars mirror. Just found him one day while I was eating lunch at work, he didn’t want to leave so I actually let him stay and became a pet in some way. There’s a lot of bugs near my job so I fed him those rolly Polly bugs that wander around. He sadly passed away a few years ago, I found his corpse when I turned my mirror outward and found him behind the mechanism. For those wondering what his name was, it was Henry. Rip little buddy

Clarification - 1-2 years is the lifespan in captivity. Their physical ability drops off quite a bit at that point, so I'd suspect that they have shorter lives in the wild due to predation.

@@michaelp.4890 Hi Michael. I'm a year late to see your comment, but I hope you'll see it at some point. All jumping spiders are venomous, but not poisonous. Venom is injected through fangs or a stinger, while poison requires the animal to be consumed. :)
Cool fact. A lot of people who have arachnophobia actually aren't afraid of jumping spiders. Myself included. I believe it's because of the way they move and how it just doesn't really trigger a spider in my head if I see one on the wall or something.

They are just like cats. Cute little vicious hunter predators.
I've found the one that mimics an ant last August. I seriously thought it was just the common trapjaw ant with it's jaws closed. After I let it climbed my fingers & got a closer look, it was a jumping spider!
I love how big their eyes are ❤❤
I had a jumping spider go with me on a bicycle ride , on my haddle bars.
They are the cutest!!!! Always super chill spiders
Have a few around the place and it still makes me chuckle every time they turn-on "cat mode" and wiggle before jumping. Named one of them TJ because he does this weird triple jump; two little skips and then the attack. Size of my little finger nail but I still flinch when they jump yet have no issue with spiders crawling on me in general..
I saw a jumping spider in my house today. It just looked at me and continued what it was doing.

The only issue I have is getting to attached and barely living to be a year old .......I don't know if I can do it.I had caught 8 loast year which either there live like families or a sack that was near by opened or what but the 8 were all within September here in Tn. just south west of JNashville. With their eyes being so polarizing I had to get a big thin cooking container and hold over and push it towards the edge and s/he would get on,the only way for me to catch since I am wheelchair bound but can stand, and I would lay the tuperwear close to me so it would see me and i would occasionaly pick it up look inside and did this to about an hour long then I would go outside open and they do thee one thing no bug or insect invertebre would do which is run,he climbed all over me tilting his head like a dog and I even brought one in a store while it chilled on my hand knowing I wouldn't hurt him or her.I absolutely love these wonderful creatures....and also,I caught a baby tan less than a month ago.that was a hyper lil guy.I still am deathly afraid of insects but I give 100% to try to catch and release. My windows always get Weavers around keeping lil annoying bugs out of the house.I do get a lil sad when I'm trying to save em they play dead which means they are in a state of fear...
jumping spiders are cute and they always look at you, with those big bugged puppy dog. eyes!

Jumping spiders are cool asl. There’s one that lives in the picnic table I sit at by my job. When it went to move by me on the table,I could see it lift its upper body to look up at me with those big eyes lol I think it got used to my presence because a few mins later,it hopped up on my arm and was exploring around
I’m normally terrified of spiders. Working on overcoming that since I try to save them on my job site lol. But these little guys I have always thought were so cute. But I recently read somewhere and (please somebody chime in if they have heard the same or different)thing that spiders actually DONT have good eyesight, which I thought was hilarious being that they have enough eyes
i found a baby outside and he jumped right in my enclosure when i held it up to him :]
those eyelashes for each eye lol

Okay I put it to you like this this is a long story I am a commercial roofer I see jumping spiders all the time maybe about 8 years ago I saw the owner of a roofing company save a spider 🕷️ from getting crutch and that made me realize the things I was doing when it came down to insects they play a major role on this planet. Literally I was repairing a roof painting down silicone on a air duct unit he was walking towards the areas I painted there was only one way out it was towards me he almost crawled in the silicone until I told him 🕷️ to stop you're going to get stuck dude you're going to have to walk towards me don't worry I won't kill you that's what I said to 🕷️ and I'm not surprised from the jumping spiders action he heard me he started walking towards me he spent a web down from the air duct unit by me but literally he turned around and looked at me and took my advice so for those people who think they're just insignificant insects you are surely wrong!!!! .👂🕷️👂😏😎

We know they are friendly. We all know Lucas ;)
Lower Ohio river Valley we have several species of jumping spiders and they are a Hoot to watch, even got my no bug wife involved, seeing one first time you'll marvel at their athletic ability and cunning, observe them long enough & you start feeling there's an air of intelligence to them. There's a extra small species that hangs around the house that's even more interesting to watch, any bug even slightly larger than itself is fair game. watching one stalking down a fly is trippy.
I think we found a spider that can make arachnafobic say “aaaaw”
