The 80s and early 90s were the golden age of action movies. Since then, we have had gems here and there, but nothing can compare to this era of film.

Interesting little tidbit: the psychiatrist, as it turns out, had a crush on Riggs, something suggested in part 3 or 4. So his being "on the edge" probably both attracted and troubled her.

That had to be in the script, it's a perfect physical expression of Murtaugh's helpless frustration in that moment.

You can hear the door make contact with the stopper but clearly it didn't stop, also when Riggs leaves the door is set closed. So that and the fact that most of the "Iconic moments" of movies often are accidents. I wouldn't be surprised it the door swinging past the jamb was unscripted but like you said, represents the helpless frustration of Murtaugh.

This movie was the action equivalent of what “THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION” was to Drama. One of my favourite movies of all time.
The attention to detail, where his skin gets pinched stopping the hammer from striking the primer. You do not come closer to stopping a suicide and he realizes that all in those last few seconds of the clip. Shits deep where boots

No. Save as much money as you can. Invest it, grow it. Find a country where the cost of living in local currency is half that of the USA. You will be fine. Car is still in park
This has to be one of Mel Gibson's finest performances. He has this character down to a T in this scene for being a victim as we find out later of post traumatic stress disorder due to his wife being killed when he as we find out was the intended target. The look in the eyes when Danny Glover has given him the gun says it all.
He just had a hot dog 5 minutes ago and he's hungry again? This guy really is crazy.

I love Riggs’ hair in this movie and the third one. He had it shorter in the second movie.
in the start of this clip there's the wiltern theater across western ave, which was no longer a film theater but concert house, but warner bros stuck the lost boys (another wb release) on the marquee for advertising another summer release.
Those guys are so awesome together
"Lost Boys" at the cinema... what a great movie
3:35-😂😂😂
I know it’s an action comedy, but the original movie (and some of the sequels to a lesser extent) really drew on the theme of trauma-induced mental health issues amongst cops. And this was also at a time when nobody was really talking about that. My older brother has been a cop for close to 35 years now, so I really appreciate that the film didn’t handle these issues in an exploitative or dismissive way.
