The new noco GBX line outputs 14-15 volts instead of 12. It makes a huge difference. I haven’t had a car it would not jump start yet.
Just a note on the gbx series, it turns off after 60 sec. So if you have a car not charging you can't drive it into the shop. The older gb series will stay on. I have the gb70 and it has worked very well.
Hate the conventional jump boxes. The batteries always fail and have to replace them. Had the Noco GP150 for 4 years and works 99% of the time.

hmm Most people get 4-5 or even more years out of a JNC. Rarely do people get 2 years out of a NOCO. I got a year out of mine.
I'm a DIYer and I have both type and keep both types in my vehicles. The downside of the lithiums is, as stated in video, they only work if car battery is only mildly discharged (dim headlights as opposed to no headlights, or crank/click vs crank and crickets). This means that half the time the lithium will fail to jump start a car. Another downside to lithiums is they only last a year before they just don't hold a charge anymore. If I could only have one type, it would be the conventional type.
Thank you. This was exactly the review I needed to convince me to buy a lead acid box. You guys can stop searching now.
I worked at a place where the jump pack was just three group 31 batteries wired parallel with a battery tender hooked up. You just had to remember to plug it in every night.

Yep. Had one at a fleet shop. Mounted on a cart so you could roll it out and jump any Diesel that came in.
Hi Guys!!! Based on Project Farm's testing of jump starters, I purchased an Audew 2000A, Peak 20,000mAh jump starter. It's been great! Never had a problem with it. It supposedly jumps engines up to 8.5L diesel.
I've got the GB 70 and like it. I said like it, not love it.....but when I can, I'll probably be trading for the 150, and yes, I COMPLETELY agree with having both. All tools have their place!
I only had money for one so I bought a jnc 770 they are all about the same money so I got the one that will jump something in cold 🥶 Colorado
Cool. I picked up an Autowit Supercat2 booster. There is no battery. It sips some power from a weak car battery into capacitors charging in a matter of about 3 min. Then it will release a large pulse of power over several seconds...perfect for starting an engine. It's rated for 10 years (stow in vehicle and forget about it), 100,000 cycles, and 800Amps. Also, it is only for starting and does not supply continuous power like a regular battery jump box.
Couldn't disagree more. NOCO GB70 is enough to start a 6.4L PowerStroke (with no battery). You just have to RTFM and disable the safety, so that it can provide the full current.

Exactly i have not ever been able to jump something now if im voltage testing i grab the big boy your supposed to keep lithium ions fully charged
Going to pick one of these up plus great deal.Great video Mike as always everyone have a great weekend.
Thank you mike for those informations!!!
i have never not been ever to jump a gasoline car or a diesel bobcat engine with mine lol i had more issues with those big jump boxes instead lmao
I agree they both have their place. I have a GB40 NOCO I keep in my glove box or the saddle bag of the motorcycle. Hasn’t let me down yet 🙏
We've use the Noco GB150 for about 4 years at our shop. Only one truck that it would not start. Started a bunch of cars literally with no battery installed. Need a battery maintainer for testing and charging but the Noco hasn't let us down
We've had a JNC 1700 at the audi dealer I work at for about 6-7 years, still works every time. Only caviot is if its a totally dead 3.0tdi, then u may have to double up on jnc's or get the seat up. Other than that well worth it.
We use the lithium ones same brand in our small engine shop. We have a smaller one and a bigger one. They're great but for some reason I have a problem getting them to sense the connection and actually put out power sometimes. It's annoying when I know I have a decent connection just send the dang power!
I have the Noco max and it's absolutely incredible. I can start up to 5 of our completely dead ISX 15 trucks
You need to try the 4000amp Noco. I use that one all the time and it works just as good as my AC Delco lead acid box.
I like it this guy This channel should have many more subscribers
Agree. I have both types. I leave the smaller one in my van all the time, and the other larger one lives in my workshop.

Great idea until the lithium battery burns your car down.
We got the Mac tools one also In green both work just fine the small noco ones is all about size to travel with
Thanks for the durability testing 😂
The lithium batteries are nice, but in day to day shop use they don’t hold up… I’ve gone through about 3 or 4 and then just bought a Matco jump box, which I believe is a rebranded Schumacher… have had it for a couple years now and works great…. But best of all, I can buy a new battery and install it and I got a new jump box… the others I have had were not serviceable and were just thrown out after they failed
I jave Novo, one year and is Great ! Fantastici.
I have a GB 70 it’s easy to stow in my vehicle..it boosted a skid steer.
got the green mac jump box and its the best
I Appreciate the videos..
I have a conventional jump box it’s a shumucher (I can’t spell lol) I just replaced the battery in my jump box I got the new battery from interstate and it works better then when it was new now! It’s actually the same jump box that snap on has but snap on just puts their name on it
noco 4000a never failed me and i use it everyday as roadside assist
Apparently they are also shock proof. Lol. Happens to everyone. Lol
I like my Goodall startall boxes. I’ve sure seen a lot of the mac ones.

Same. I have three of the 10k amp. Lightweight and powerful, have never let me down.
Projecta branded lithium jump pack is strong enough for a 5L diesel engine and that brand has rapid recharge from the running engine. 20 seconds and its fully charged again. Never worried about going flat
I've been wondering whey my HULKMAN 8.5 wouldn't jump my 2017 QX50 (original battery). My friend called AAA for me and he had a blue type of your MAX and that jumped it with no problem. You're the only person I could find that can explain it.
These are good shop tools because they will see more use and be cycled more. And in the long run, the shop will get a better ROI in that tool than a tech owning their own.
NoCo for sure.but shops use larger battery chargers. I take care of my battery and replace it at the first sign of trouble, end of life. Get a good battery to begin with so you don’t have to worry.
What do you recommend for battery maintainer
Gooloo 4000 has a boost button so can jump car even wo a battery...jumped a Cummins with it im the cold no problem however I do use lead acid one for a car that won't start that's dead I need to scan Def both have there place... that gooloo is like $150 it really is pretty awesome

The Nocos also have that button
some of the new jumpstarters are so idiotproofed they won't let you start a completely dead battery it won't come on if it does not detect some voltage hooked up correctly, so the better ones have a button to force it to work but not all have that.
"had to buy it cuz it was orange" ... * pets orange color " 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I press that Exclamation point and it starts everything I throw at it. I have the GB40. Never tried a diesel though
I’ve been so disappointed with our Noco GBL 150. Never had as much power as it should have and it isn’t very rugged. It can’t handle any sort of cold exposure without ruining it.
You need to compare to Noco GB150 .. It will jump ANYTHING with no battery even in it. And you can leave it hooked up for a hour while testing no problem. Need to buy the wall charger separately. Bet it still costs less than that MAC though.
Question, I have one just like it ,about 20yrs old, will not hold charge anymore, can the battery be replaced or cheaper to get another, thanks
i have one similar to Mac the only difference its not Mac but Mac is like 2 times the price one I have and does same job I think with brands like Mac brand it's more expensive because it says Mac
I wouldn't buy that orange Mac jump box..... The Shop would!
I know that didn’t feel good them bad boys are heavy lol
I've owned alot of jumpboxs and they all suck. I'm a mobile mechanic and I carry around 3 jump boxes because most of the time I need 2 just to get the car going. I don't own a NOCO though. I own the ones like the Mac yoy have. Maybe its because im up north and the cold plays a role.
Conventional jump boxes are still better, but the gap is closing. For lithium, or Lipo jump packs, stay at 4000 amps or higher since they are atrociously over rated.
You need at least the 150 or higher for shop environment.
I had the Noco gb70 for maybe a week. I returned it and got the gb150 instead. With the gb70, it couldn’t even jump start 3L diesels even thought it was rated for a lot more. The 150, i have no problems jump starting anything that shows up

@@darwindropmazda warranty it.
I just got a new J&C after my old one could no longer crank a totally dead battery. It lasted about 8 years. I've had those lithium and they are ok for tossing in your car not for real work.
😁👍
I agree you do need both but them no go’s a garbage
I Just Had to Buy a Battery For My Jump Box.
Gb150 all day
yes, but the warranty sucks. Three to 6 months.
We had the heavy conventional ( heavy ) jumper pack, air compressor, power source units branded as Stanley in the past and they lasted a year or two at best , I bought a $50.00 no name pocket sized jumper pack off amazon, it doesn't care if a battery is stone dead or not, it will start most light duty vehicles 99%of the time and it doesn't have to live on a charger when not in use, we bought a noco gbx 2500a because the Goodall that we tried was dead and useless from the get go? Like many others have noted, the noco's won't do anything if the battery is junk ? The $50.00 one doesn't care? The cheaper one is also a lithium battery as well? The noco if charge it and leave it uncharged but unused for a week, it will be dead when you need it?? Very disappointed in both the noco and the Goodall automotive jumper units.

the biggest problem is the old lead acid ones need to be recharged at least monthly or battery will go bad if you let it sit to long between charges. I changed the battery on two of them and they worked like new
did you mean "dump box"? 🤣
Come on. The tale of two stories? Tow Jockeys. Put your big box inside of the truck it will not kill your jumper. If you leave it in your outer box it will ground out the jumper. A lesson learned by me. I didnt know that until i lived above the frost line. Between Orlando and Stuart and Port St. Lucy. Dont mess with the Alternator. Mike. What happened to cables from the tow truck?
FIRST!
Honestly the SnapOn booster is the best.
