The mechanic where the stone appears on the ride vehicle is awesome! I didnt notice it pop up the first time around but the timing was really cool
It seems like a good idea, the idea of 'losing lives' across the ride is actually kind of cool. Could have definitely done a sort of Indiana Jones meets Jungle Cruise with the idea. It's really lacking when it comes to immersive themeing, however, with the open celings (making us look up at the spiders was hilarious because you could see the celing), lack of moving pieces/animatronics, and poor ride vehicles (not even real wheels nor an actual steering wheel). So just another ride that would make us say 'What If..'

I think it would be a perfect ride once the open spaces are either filled in or hidden. A lot of that can be fixed through being strict with lighting. The bright lights used also make the projections lack contrast in some areas
@ItsGibsy

I'm wondering if it's really a lack of theming, or if it's just because of the cameras larger aperture, that it can see more than we would in the situation. I'm assuming that they have a decent enough camera for low lighting, which could've made it where the camera was seeing more than the people riding would actually see. Breaks immersion for us watching, but not for the people riding.

If Universal ever did a ride for Jumanji. I could see then doing the board game version, and having it be really interesting.

Honestly, it looks pretty good. Sure, you can see the ceilings and some of the walls, but it certainly looks like a lot of work was put into it. If they tone down some of the lights and change a few of the more obvious walls to look like a temple, this would really make it a great ride.

This is pretty amazing for a non-Disney or Universal park ride. Considering this is way more immersive and creative than some attractions I've seen outside those parks where you can see the walls / ceilings. This ride may have those issues too, but unlike others, they seem to really excel in other areas and a lot of the reasoning for it being noticed is simply due to the flashing lights that go along with the thunder and the camera angles. However, another thing to think about is most people who do high quality videos on KZread in a lot of cases can pick up on a lot of detail you wouldn't see in person due to them using high quality camera, or for example, "low lightning" videos (which this channel has released a few) specifically are created to show more detail on dark ride attractions. So while I think it could have been seen in person I think it was more obvious on camera due to the lighting, high quality camera, and angles that were used.

Ive seen this in person, it’s underwhelming, and the ceiling is very visible throughout the ride. There's no denying that it isn't perfect and I still stand by what I said. And let's be honest, everyone can do better. Some choose to try, some just choose not to. Considering Disney refuses to fix "The Yeti" and everything else under the sun and I'm pretty sure they're more loaded compared to Merlin Entertainment. At the end of the day, you're going to get only what you're willing to pay for. Maybe the budget got cut back suddenly? Maybe they had to scrap a lot of ideas? I mean, they clearly couldn't afford to have the whole cast involved in the ride. I know the whole point is you're the player, but usually they try to use the images of other characters somehow in the narrative usually in an attraction (even if its just for the preshow).

For all the comments: I rode it multiple times, Gardaland is my “home park” (~2 Hours drive) and I have to say that is a good ride, when it works properly. Sometimes something is not working, audio and video rarely aren’t in synchro and other minor things. But overall os very good for it’s budget range! You can feel giant’s hot breath when passing in front of the moving head, in the loading station you can smell cinnamon flavour, the big hand tries to catch you, the snake sprays venom when passing by, and when there’s the falling scene you can feeling like you’re falling. Overall I would go for a 7 out of 10.

For a non Disney/universal ride… I liked it. A lot of fair and small park dark rides are a tunnel and neon paint with a black light. This has a concept, story, animation, and the black out jump scares were nice. I give it a 7/10 for non Disney/universal
Nigel's lip-synching is just like a spaghetti western! lol I love this. Great ride idea, and it's awesome that we live in a time when there is plenty of competition with the big leagues in theme park attractions. Jumanji has always been a favorite story of mine so it's a good candidate for a ride like this one. I'll definitely check out more about this Gardaland park.
I think the reason you can see the ceilings and walls in the video is 100% the camera settings, and not a real representation of what people were seeing on the ride. It's likely that the camera just had decent low-light settings and made things a lot more visible on camera than to the people riding.

Jumanji The Adventure is a dark ride with a lot of potential, the only thing missing is the scenery. Gardaland is my home park I am there many times a year and I can tell you that since they opened Jumanji The Adventure they have kept adding new scenery to the attraction all the time...I know there is still a lot missing but honestly all in all I would give the attraction an 8/10 rating. This is temporary... They are fixing the issues... For example some animatronics broke and they are replacing temporary them with statues ... If you don't trust me go watch a video of the ride in 2022
Unfortunately there are a lot of effects that do not work properly in this POV, like the giant’s hand not moving, the smoke effect missing in the last scene and also the hippo that used to be a proper animatronic that moved quite a lot. This video is also too bright, in reality the ride is much darker and you can never see the ceiling. Take a look at a POV from last year to see the ride at its fullest.
Im actually surprised no ride existed before hand.
This is a neat ride. I kinda wish we had it in the states
As an architect it's amazing to see the lengths Disney and Universal go to to conceal Fire Escape Exit signs but still keep the building compliant with local building codes. Here, there's illuminated exit signs and doors everywhere. Really takes you out of the experience.
This has a lot of potential if they can get the lighting right, slightly darker to hide the ceilings, at least it’s original and not trying to copy other attractions
Interesting mix of fully immersive elements, and other parts with obvious walls and tracks with no real attempt to hide the fact you're on a ride. Maybe with more money and a slight overhaul, this could become completely immersive, like the Disneyland ride it so wants to be.
I am glad about the Jumanji ride. Also I am looking forward to watch the Jumanji films again soon.
I think this ride looks amazing I would love to see Universal pick it up and replace the fast and furious with it. For theme and story of the ride is so cool. As it wouldn’t surprise me if Jumanji has ancient stone guardian.

That looks like a great ride!
Child: "Mom, hurry up we need to get on the Indiana Jones ride before it breaks down!" Mom: "Don't worry, we have that ride at home." That ride at home.
If they also made more of the creatures like the hippopotamus open and close it's mouth, some of spiders physically fall down from the ceiling and the Cobra move and spit water, the immersion factor would be ever better.
Man. It had so much potential! I say shut it down for a year, theme the ceiling and change the static figures to audio animatronics. The video effects are great though.
I love the part where the stones hand appears ready to grab and kill the riders
I feel like it could use some improvements like making it more immersive, adding more animatronics, and fixing the lighting. Just having projections and statues slightly moving, blasting air, and squirting water is bit bland but it still looks like fun
Imagine a ride based on the first film that goes through the rolls and you move throughout the destruction of the town and the house, survive the flood and the crocodile attacks your vehicle, would be awesome 😂

Really cool concept and most of the effects are really good! However that hippo out of water barely moving with just a puddle showing it’s animatronic bearings was a bit cringey as well as the unmoving cobra and effects that do there thing turn off and then after the turn off the car moves on. Oh my god you've arrived in Italy has gandaland how's the food did you like it?
When the rides are so off the shelf that the ride layouts are pretty much the same with different coverings.
Well, that's a thing. A lot of cost cutting and lack of creativity when it comes to the overuse of screens that don't even blend into the surroundings. The drop simulator aspect was a great addition, but the abrupt spin transition takes you out of the experience. If it wasn't for the giant prop, the whole thing just feels like one of the many Halloween walkthroughs Universal does, though they are a bit more interesting due to the condensed spaces used and the large amount of prop usage with the jump scare actors. This just feels like an empty warehouse (you can even see the freakin' roof of it in the spider scene) with a bunch of walls and screens to stare at with the occasional statue or interesting prop (like the giant), but you see the lack of funds put into the experience and understand why. The hippo is just a floating head! Really Universal? You couldn't make it seem like it is in a pool of green water?
Please have a JUMANJI ride in Universal Studios Orlando 😀😀😀
I have to say just my two cents but they could do jumanji like how the pirates of the Caribbean ride with a boat type of flume ride maybe going thru the house from the original movie and have alligators in there following you at certain points of the ride and have the hunter in there two at certain points as well and maybe have a scene where the kids are rolling the dice for the game or something I dont know but I think that would be cooler than this.

Oh look, another dark ride with immersive screens. Imagine paying for real decoration and animatronics?

Honestly its moving in a really good direction. Just fill in the empty spaces, dim the lighting and walls then cover the ceiling up not even fully if they just fix the lighting.
Wow this is the poorest mans Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom ride I've ever seen. It could have potential if they hid the rooms more, themed the ceiling, toned down the lighting in some parts and it didnt sound like Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin. It's not terrible but it isn't the best. I'm glad they saved the Shankara Stone though.

I have a few questions, were the animatronics broken or static? Did the projections translate better in real life?
