    Your channel is my favorite budgeting channel. I am always impressed with how you keep your variable expenses in check! It is unrealistic to have no “fun spending,” especially if you have kids, but I also try to remember that my kids are learning money values from watching our family spending. We are working on learning how many meals we can eat at home for the price of one time going out to eat. Real world math and finance!

    Thank you! It’s taken a long time to get our variable spending under control. Using cash made all the difference… and not allowing myself to cheat and use the debit card when I went over. Also, limiting my trip to the grocery store to once per week helps too. I’ve finally convinced myself it’s ok to run out of things and not immediately replace it. My daughter has finally started seeing the true cost of things now that I give her an allowance and make her use her own money to purchase things she wants. She will think though purchases a lot more carefully! Thank you for your support! I appreciate you!

    Yes! I can totally relate! Our “savings” used to be whatever was still in the bank before the payments came out for bills… which was literally nothing. I even remember a time where we wrote checks hoping they wouldn’t clear before payday came through. I am so glad I’m not living that life any more. Thank you for watching and being a great asset to this community 💗

    The way I got it to be two columns is by selecting “print two pages on one” when I print it. Otherwise it’s two large pages.

    What was the trigger that made you decide to budget? Why did you decide to create a channel and share your journey? I really enjoy your channel. I appreciate the variety of content, but all pointing towards the same goal (budget sheets, menus, games). I know you got that one negative comment about funding vacation while eliminating debt, but you don’t owe anyone an explanation. When you have adult children or soon-to-leave-the-nest children, decisions are a little different. I appreciate your down to earth approach!

    Hi there! Ahhh, the trigger that prompted our journey. 100% was Christmas of 2022. When we made good money but didn't have any extra money to buy our kids a Christmas gift. We had to take out "Affirm and Klarna," loans, etc to fund Christmas because all of our credit cards were maxed out and we had no disposable income left after bills were paid. With our income, we should have had money, but we didn't. I sat down and did a budget and was in shock at how we had so much credit card debt and we were spending way more than we were bringing in. We made drastic changes and committed to getting out of debt. As far as why I decided to create a channel and share my journey is mainly because of the inspiration I found from other people on KZread and the fact that it would help keep me accountable and help me share what I have learned. Thank you for your very sweet comment, it means so much!

    Hello Mrs P! How do you determine how much you are going to allocate to savings challenges?

  • @BudgetWithMrsP

    @BudgetWithMrsP

    Ай бұрын

    I think about how much I need for each category, see what my budget can handle, and go from there. For example, my Monday Minis are sinking funds that I would have given a certain amount each month anyway... so I just divide that total number by the weeks in the month and that is what I use. If the budget allows more, I add more so that they can be funded more quickly. Hope this helps! My budget is still a work in progress!
