    Maybe you can replace the Cat's Pajamas with a hardy groundcover like Georgia Blue Speedwell, which is mostly evergreen in zone 7B. You will get the very early blue flowers and great looking foliage the rest of the year. Almost everyone here in zone 7B north MS has Bermuda turf, and you have to get rid of it completely; no turning it over and letting it compost. It would take root and you'd never get rid of it!

    Your garden is so charming. I love cottage style gardens. Most gardens are always a work in progress. I've been working in my garden for over 30 years and it still isn't the way I would like. I revamped one of my perennial gardens a couple of years ago. We've been getting a lot of rain here too after a month's drought. I put in a koi pond about 14 years ago and I love it. ...your home has such warmth and personality, Laura...I love old homes (and have one myself.) I have good planting-beds out back, but I want less grass and more "utility" like your raised bed area. I do have a small greenhouse which has added, like, 500% charm. Yours is to die for (with Marc's sink?!! 🤗🤤 [that's a 'drool' emoji]. Your little new cottage bed is beautiful and really coming along....I love the boxwood bones. Quick questions (you've probably mentioned it in the past) - Where did you get your lovely birdbath/fountain in the corner by the arbor and back door? It has a little bird on the top. I just love it and would love to have one in my garden, also. Looking forward to watching your transformation with the little pond.

    I haven't looked at your channel because I get updates on IG every day. What a difference watching the "big screen" on my laptop. Everything looks great. You will, of course, let us know where we can purchase the How's It Growing turf blend😆. Everything is growing in so well (Sprinters especially!). The border in the back looks so pro and the new planting in the front will be a continuation of the loveliness. I have one question. I've looked everywhere for a bird bath (no fountain). I love the one by your Rose Teacup Dogwood. Where, oh where did you find it? And if there is a design in the bath part, is it hard to clean? Great video!

    Hi Laura, Beautiful gardens!! When you say you use sheet mulching with cardboard - do you only use cardboard or do you use the sheet mulching that you can buy at the store like landscape fabric? What do you suggest is the best method/way to edge beds?

  • @HowsItGrowing

    @HowsItGrowing

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi! I’ve only done it in one area and worked great. Just cardboard with soil on top. It breaks down completely. I don’t recommend plastic or landscape fabric. Unless you’re using it for a pathway with pavers or stones and don’t want to plant in that space. I like to use a half moon edging shovel. I got one on Amazon. It cuts really nice lines. I lay out a bit of hose or rope on the ground to mark my path then cut around it. It’s such a small garden here so it’s easy this way.
