In 1991 she fired her guns in anger for the last time.

Iowa was decommissioned in 1990 and as far as I know never sailed again after Turret 2. Only Missouri and Wisconsin were providing fire support in 91
Just imagine if she fired off one of the big ones

If they did, they would have to replace every window for a few miles in every direction.

They need to make a New Iowa Electronic Warfare Iowa Class.

Such move was not necessary and it's too costly to upgrade old battleships let alone replacing it to the production line. Also battleships even with advanced electronic capability wasn't too practical to be used in modern combat situations.

@@JadgyRedgy didn’t say anything about upgrade. New ship, new mission, 😉 A new platform to test and use experimental tech.

If the USS Iowa was to be reborn, she could have done a lot worse than to come back as something so deadly as a Virginia Class Nuclear Submarine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Iowa_(SSN-797)
Not a full charge and much quieter than when there's a shell. I was on several destroyers with 5" 38s.
Imagine the Iowa firing her 16 guns
