The South African media portrayal of him is 100% of the time dishonest. He is a smart guy and knows what he is talking about. As well as his compatriots. I listened to every EFF lecture on their EFF book club lectures page. South Africa needs to be black and remain under black leadership. He has my vote 2024. The ANC time has past. They lost their vision for our people. The EFF is our last resort, especially as the last bastion for Left-leaning politics.

I appreciate him for what he stands for and how he spoke so respectfully about Nelson Mandela. He reminds me so much of Marcus Garvey and his movement for the race of Black Lives.

Wow! As a white Afrikaans South African now currently in Lockdown, I watched this as I want to expand my knowledge and understanding of what is happening with our poor and vulnerable people. This speech made me cry and made my heart so sore. But after watching this, I know we can find a way to improve and to assist my country as soon as this Covid19 is over. I am a teacher and I can start by educating my students there. I think the new generation will be the answer to these struggles. Education is the key in equality. I do believe that corruption is one of our biggest enemies alongside racism and gender based violence. But we have to hold the government accountable. They are not taking care of our vulnerable communities. They must be top priority ❤️🙏🏻

This is the same man who has said in multiple interviews throughout previous years that he won't advocate for white genocide,,, yet. He has also advocated for removing a South African's right to own property, primarily so that he can expropriate land from farmers without compensation. I also love how he talks about looking after businesses, when his political party recently orchestrated the vandalization and looting of almost 70 Clicks stores across the country, because they dared to show a shampoo advert where a photo of some black hair was used as an example of dry hair. He talks about unity, but at every step, seeks to separate people on the basis of race. I admit he has a relative charisma and eloquence. So did Joseph Stalin. Every ounce of power this man obtains, is a step closer to the eventual downfall of our country. Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika indeed, cause we need all the help we can get!

You will be left alone to deal with your problems 10. When you are so exhausted sickness, starvation, and war, the evil white people will come to help you - from there, you know what will happen. And no one will feel bad for you because of all the evil you have done. Black Africans in South Africa are suffering more now, than under Apartheid.

Oh JuJu, He speaks a lot of truth. As a White South African born in the 80's I did not see first hand, the Apartheid atrocities. I was raised to believed we are all equal and should have equal opportunity if we work hard for our achievements. I am just worried about what you said that you want a country where black and white are equal and that there is no hatred of white people. It is true that (especially as an Afrikaner) that there are people that refuse to let go of their despicable apartheid menatlity, however there are also stil people (many of them EFF supporters) who associate me with those radicals. Who want me to go back to Europe because that is where I came from. I have never lifted a finger to a black person. I have never owned a gun or shot anyone. Neither me nor anyone in my family have been a part of some radical movement. We are all humans and I treat everyone the same. I have said NUMEROUS times "Not in my name" "not on my watch" "not on my whatsapp group". I have reported white and black racist posts and tweets on numerous occasions. I am worried that what you say here and what you might believe and want to happen is different. All I want is for us to work together to make this country great.

As a Zimbabwean if you are living in South Africa you are living on borrowed time, especially if you have a job. If you dont live there, contact someone who does and ask them how welcome they are lately. Several of your countrymen have been viciously murdered simply because they were foreigners and no doubt many more will follow. Who is suppressing the voices of the people? They have been independent for 25 years now, ruled by the comrades in the ANC who like Mugabe and his pals, have only ever had the best interests of the people at heart.

I'm context, that low of an IQ means that they cannot even conceptualize how to solve the daily problems of a modern city. I worked with many foreigners before I left and they all had permission to stay. Thry work harder than the locals and many have developed good businesses, which makes the locals jealous. The locals dont ask for their papers before attacking them, they just have grievances that they are angry about and the nearest foreign spaza shop and its owner will be targetted.

Yes Joe. That is so sad. I am aware that he used to do so and I was very perturbed by that. But he has actually changed a lot. His views are very different now, as he as maturing. You will hear what he said at the Oxford Union gathering, as well as at his other interviews, that he actually wishes to negotiate with the farmers, in order to work together in all fairness and harmony. Give the guy a break! Please check out on KZread his interviews with Thabo Makweya, etc. Also his presentation at the Chamber of Commerce in Cape Town. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed Malema's speech it is unfortunate that the South African media continue to portray him as such a radical when most of the ideas he espouses are entrenched completely in the Freedom Charter and to a lesser degree in our Constitution. My single problem is that he continues to shape the discussion in a 20th century manner when as we have looked around the world today we see many country combining the effectiveness of individual enterprise with so called "socialist" policies producing a more equal and educated society and population where people are guaranteed quality and free education (both foundational and tertiary), healthcare, basic services with living wages. I believe Mr Malema provides an outstanding diagnosis of the diseases within our country but I fear his prescription is stuck with 20th century research. Let us also learn lessons from countries such as Singaphore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and China etc... Who have transformed the conditions of their people (though not all) from poverty to upliftment. Well done on the great speech!!!

I am afraid I have to say this and Mandela was not the man he was betrayed and was part of the Marxist/communist ANC that has destroyed are destroying SA. A interesting and honest comment by an African Intellectual to sum up the reasons for Africa's lack of progress was (1) Corruption (20 marxism. Marxism is one of the most evil and fatal ideologies in human history . It is closely related to national socialism and is demonic in nature. Anyone that is attached to it will regret it. As Jesus said "By there deeds shall ye know them. i am afraid to say that the deeds of Mandela and the ANC and the results are not good and very destructive

Yes what you said about profit sharing with workers in a company is the way to go. I had a relative who used to work in a British bank in Zimbabwe and they used to be given dividents at the end of the banks financial year. Thats the way to go. This should happen in all the companies. Bravo Julius Malema!

He might just be the African leader to finally bring about the last revolution of economic and political emancipation that many before him have failed, to finally bring to pass what Kwame Nkrumah and others have envisioned for a greater and better Africa, and I am ready to offer my services Sir!

+Severus Snape Maybe you should read the reality of Kwame Nkrumah's Africa. The book "The State of Africa" by Martin Meredith. I bought it at the airport in Cape Town when leaving the country after a month visit. Also, Malema is a good talker. Research his background thoroughly before you offer your services.

During the first years of his rule, Nkrumah and the CPP were faced with opposition in the form of the United Party (UP). In general, the CPP was socialistic in nature and sought to centralize power and ownership in the government. The UP, on the other hand, championed a federalist philosophy that would allow for a greater distribution of power; the party also espoused the cause of Ghana’s capitalists, supporting private ownership and a competitive free market system. With Ghana’s economy largely based on the production of cocoa, the UP found strong support among the nation’s cocoa farmers, who opposed the CPP’s state-controlled cocoa marketing system. Nkrumah and the CPP set about to weaken their opposition. Opposition leaders who would not merge or compromise with the CPP were eventually harassed or placed in preventive detention. The Preventive Detention Act of 1958 enabled the government to imprison opponents for up to five years without a trial. Press censorship was practiced, and the right to hold public meetings was sharply curtailed. The CPP, with headquarters in Accra, became the center of the nation’s political activity. The party’s central committee became responsible for selecting members of parliament and filling other government positions. A wide range of institutions were created or influenced by the CPP to gain more control over Ghana’s population. Through party appointments, the CPP put its own people into positions such as regional commissioners, district commissioners, and town or local development committee posts. The CPP also created a wide range of functional groups, including the Ghana Trade Union Congress, the United Ghana Farmers Council, the Young Pioneers, the Workers Brigade, and organizations for women, all of which worked to neutralize the opposition. In case these measures failed, vigilante groups garnered support for the CPP with the aid of Nkrumah’s private security forces. Nkrumahism Emerged as Sole Ideology By 1960 Nkrumah and the CPP had consolidated their power and were ready to implement their political policies. The government’s policies were guided by Nkrumah’s personal philosophy, which came to be known as Nkrumahism. According to Ghana: Coping with Uncertainty, “Nkrumahism rejected the rigidity of existing traditional institutions and opposed all manifestations of colonialism, neocolonialism, and external interference.” In other words, Nkrumah opposed the influence of outside powers on his country. He steadfastly resisted the exertion of political or economic power on Ghana from any other source. The basic tenets of Nkrumahism included socialism as the path to further development and unity with other emerging African nations as the way to achieve power in the international arena. As described in Ghana: Coping with Uncertainty, “Nkrumahism rested on several pillars: an outright attack on underdevelopment, the rapid expansion of state intervention in the economy, industrialization as the key to economic growth, and diversification of foreign contacts.” Nkrumahism became an instrument in the development of the cult of personality that surrounded Nkrumah. Eventually, it was seen to be an abstract vision rather than a force that could provide the necessary guidelines for dealing with Ghana’s political and economic realities. A One-Party Socialist State Developed In 1961 Nkrumah nationalized Ghana’s cocoa trade, thus beginning the implementation of his socialist policies. A broad class of state corporations was established to further industrialization and economic growth. These state-linked corporations included agricultural units, external trade organizations, distribution networks, and marketing monopolies. Unfortunately, Ghana’s economic problems began around this time as well. The world cocoa price was falling, and imports and government expenditures increased while proceeds from exports began to decline. A bare bones spending plan or “austerity budget” was introduced. The government borrowed heavily and passed the Compulsory Savings Act, which deducted five percent for savings from workers’ paychecks. When introduced in September of 1961, this deduction led to a general strike on the part of workers. A combination of socialist policies and various external factors led to a serious decline in Ghana’s economy. According to Ghana: Coping with Uncertainty, “Production in government plants during the 1961-66 period declined, the foreign debt burden grew at an alarming pace, real urban wages were cut by half, sectoral imbalances were magnified, and in the name of socialism, gold mines, plantations, and even Accra’s laundries were nationalized, draining resources and generating no return. Agricultural production stagnated and in some cases dropped.” Foreign Policy Based on Pan-Africanism and Liberation Nkrumah implemented an active foreign policy to bring Ghana from the periphery of world affairs to a more important role in the struggle for African liberation and unity. He was instrumental in the creation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), underwriting preliminary conferences on African unity and developing personal ties with other African leaders. He balanced his ties with the West by participating in the Afro-Asian movement and strengthening his relations with the Soviet bloc. By expanding the range and scope of Ghana’s international ties, Nkrumah hoped to break Ghana’s inherited dependency on external forces. In the early 1960s more than 60 ambassadors were placed in foreign capitals, and a special Bureau of African Affairs was created. Nkrumah’s explicitly global perspective was designed to bring about an improvement in conditions in all of Africa as well as in Ghana. Political Conflicts Led to Overthrow The workers’ strikes of 1961 were led by the same groups that had helped bring Nkrumah to power. When the government’s efforts to placate the workers were ineffective, the trade unions were joined in their opposition by religious groups that protested the attribution of godlike qualities to Nkrumah. At the same time, policy conflicts intensified within the CPP. In August of 1962 an attempt was made on Nkrumah’s life at Kulungugu in Ghana’s Upper Region. As a result, Nkrumah came to distrust the moderate elements within the CPP and relied more on the party’s radicals, resulting in greater isolation from his supporters. In the trial following the Kulungugu assassination attempt, the major suspects were found not guilty. Overreacting to the decision, Nkrumah dismissed the nation’s chief justice and rushed a bill through the National Assembly that gave him the power to set aside any judgment in the nation’s courts. Effectively demolishing the country’s independent judiciary, Nkrumah seemed to be embarking on a course leading to dictatorship. His actions alienated many of his supporters, especially the United States and Great Britain. In January of 1964 a referendum was held to make Ghana a one-party state. It passed, and Ghana legally became a one-party socialist state. However, the vote on the referendum was reportedly rigged, revealing how much power was concentrated in the hands of Nkrumah. Another assassination attempt was made by one of Nkrumah’s own guards. When there was a flurry of military activity around Accra, security concerns escalated. Angry demonstrations against the U.S. embassy followed reports that capitalist forces were trying to overthrow Nkrumah. Four American professors were subsequently dismissed from the University of Ghana at Legon. During this period, Nkrumah was welcoming more Russians to Accra and strengthening his ties to the communist states of Europe’s Eastern bloc while again denouncing the imposition of power on African states by other nations. During 1964 and 1965 Nkrumah became involved in attempts to end the Vietnam War. He had good relations with the Chinese and Vietnamese leaders as well as with the Western powers. Nkrumah was forced to put his peace plans on hold, however, when rumors of more coup attempts surfaced. Around the same time, political turmoil was brewing in the self-governing British colony of Southern Rhodesia. A white minority government declared independence in 1965, and over the next few years efforts to control and segregate the country’s African population increased. Ghana supported the OAU during the Rhodesian crisis and broke off diplomatic relations with Great Britain. Nkrumah’s at tempts to mobilize the military to prepare for war with Rhodesia only exacerbated the problems he was having with Ghana’s armed forces. On February 1, 1966, Nkrumah made his last address to the National Assembly. Preoccupied with a proposed visit to Hanoi, North Vietnam, Nkrumah was by this time isolated from the OAU and virtually at war with his neighbors in West Africa. He left the Accra airport for China on his way to Hanoi on February 21, 1966, and a few days later the Ghanaian army and police staged a coup, thereby seizing power from him. Nkrumah learned of the coup from the Chinese when he arrived in Peking. Exile in Guinea Nkrumah accepted an offer of security from Guinean leader Sekou Toure, who made him the joint head of state of Guinea, and Nkrumah carried on the African revolutionary struggle there. He also continued to write during his exile in Guinea and frequently made broadcasts to the people in his homeland of Ghana over the “Voice of Revolution” radio station. In 1968 Nkrumah set up a publishing company to publish his books. His writings became more revolutionary and extreme. His final philosophy was published in The Class Struggle in Africa in 1970, in which he views the African revolution as part of the world socialist revolutionary process. Later that year Nkrumah became seriously ill. Diagnosed with cancer, he went through a long period of severe suffering before he died on April 27, 1972, in Bucharest.

Thank you for taking the pains to detail this information to me and those others following this comment Steve Woodford , I can assure you I took the pains to read all of it :) . I pride myself in learning as much as I can about the world we live in order to know how it functions and generally to make myself a better human being, if there's truth in your writings and quotes it'd appear I've not done enough learning not only on Mr. Malema and his politics, but also with Khwame who I've long held as a paragon of many an African virtues. I wasnt aware he had any kind of literature in his name either... I shall inform myself further and come back later perhaps more objective and well informed, thanks.

@Bon.Vivant If he is not racist, then it is like saying hitler(against jews) wasnt racist or hendrik verwoerd(apartheid creator) wasnt racist. Who is a better example of a black racist then if this guy(asked for slaughter of whites to be unnecesary now, but cant say for future-on youtube video) is not? It will then have to boil down to black people cannot be racist because the bar is too high for a black person to qualify as being racist. That is like saying blacks are not fully human becuase unlike other races they cannot hold a grudge against other race groups
