Faces Of Africa- Kwame Nkrumah

Kwame Nkrumah was born on September 21, 1909, in Nkroful, Gold Coast (now Ghana), and shepherded the country in its struggle for independence from Great Britain. He went on to be named life president of both the nation and his party, until the army and police in Ghana seized power in 1966 and he found asylum in Guinea.

Aa a Jamaican, I read more by books about Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Some times i cried and also asked myself why lost this great man. I took myself and i traveled to Ghana, 2015 to visit his gravesite. Today I'm a citizen of Ghana, married Ghanaian, built 24 apartments units in Ghana. May his soul Rest In Peace 🌍🤜🏿🤛🏿🌍

American Blacks love Kwame Nkrumah, they name their sons after him, they choose to write about him when asked to write about their favorite hero, when they hear of Ghana, although there have been many famous and charismatic Ghanians, Nkrumah is the American's shining light of unity. Yes, Africa made him tragic, but this made his light shine brighter for Americans like Marcus Garvey. He will always be loved because his name is passed down from generation to generations. He is still the subject of artistic expression to this day.

Nkrumah was seen as a hero by many in the USA also, or at least by American Blacks. Highly regarded by Malcolm X. Dr. King was invited by Nkrumah to help celebrate Ghana's independence, an invitation that King happily accepted. W.E.B. Du Bois moved to Ghana and died there after Nkrumah's movement won Ghana's independence. I read a number of Nkrumah's books while I was a student

Yeah...they chose despotism over democracy and eventually they went the way of despots...it rarely ends well. Kwame jailed his opponents, he never had to fight for the liberation of Ghana...he was a member of the African elite who pretty much had the nation handed to him by the British. His problem was his ideology met the brick wall of reality and his background as an educator did not result in Statecraft.

Doctor Kwame Nkrumah is one of the Africa great leaders. The man who fight for Ghana independence with the knowledge of freedom and justice. The man who built the first motorway in Africa. Doctor Kwame Nkrumah was specially educated man. A professor who built about total of 25 training colleges and secondary schools including university of science and technology. How possible such a well minded man and dedicated person end up of kicking the bucket outside his motherland. Is Ghanaians been ungrateful to all his hard work? Trust no one human being so wicked. We have to pray for doctor Kwame Nkrumah whenever we go on our knees for prayers for forgiveness of Ghanaians wickedness. RESPECT FOR YOU ALL Thanks

Ghanaians are indeed very ungrateful and I believe we are paying for our sins, for what we did to a man who laid down his life for a country he loved. The oppressor was a brutal savage, killing, looting and destruction was his way of life, it still is! I suspect people such as these have the same genes or perhaps brain; or perhaps there was constant sharing of ideas on how to go about hurting, robbing, raping, mutilating and killing others because somehow the method is the same…divide and rule! In SA all the African tribes were told they’re different from each other and taught to hate one another through silly borders drawn for us inside the country, they did the same in Namibia…and clearly they did the same thing to the broader African population!!! Over time they taught African Americans and Africans in Africa to hate one another and to show no respects or one another. In Africa we were taught black Americans are proud and hate Africans, while in the US they were told that we in Africa hate them and we live like animals….this taught by brutal murderers!!!

The same way pre-colonial African leaders were able to plant a seed of thought to their people to fight for their freedom from Colonialism, is the same thing that needs to happen now. We need a changed mindset backed up with strategically planned actions and loyalty to our continent. I believe that Africa has a great future. It is a fresh continent with so much unexploited resources. If we change everyone’s mindset to see this same future and work for it we will win. It won’t happen in two days obviously but rather in the long term.

Wow...my first time watching this video and comments from fellow Africans had my eyes filled with tears and the successful unity of purpose the black man has always stood for. Let me pay tribute to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, whose initial birth name was Kofi (Friday Born), but later named after his Uncle (Kwame). Although, Algeria, Morroco, Tunisia and others, earlier attained independence from their colonial masters; the Emergence of Dr. Nkrumah as the first Sub-Saharan, African & Ghana President (Prime Minister) to attaining independence from the british colony, became a resetting of inspiration for other African countries to rejoin that pursuit. He truly imparted & impacted the era of his generation which saw a precedence for others to walk in his new spirit of african leadership and still even adored by many today. Very Brave, Strong in Character, full of Confidence, Aptitude of wisdom and Academically brilliant and in General knowledge. As a Ghanaian, although Nkrumah died, many years before I was Born... The books I've read, the commentaries I've heard and the works (Legacy) I've seen, have proven to my beliefs, that Osagyefo Dr K. Nkrumah was a mystery in Political Governance and God sent in his days to be a pace-setter for the Rejuvenation of African Unity & Development. I finally believe as a Ghanaian that, no government or president in his era has done equally or better than what Nkrumah attained for Ghana even in terms of Infrastructural & Industrial Development. As I end, I also believe the white colonial masters including the British and some american leaders can not be spared, that they plotted to eliminate our greatest visionary, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who seemed to be a threat to them while he opened the eyes of Africans in his leadership inspiration and to had helped us govern our own affairs and not serving the white colonialists Again. May God Keep Helping Africa Again & Again... Amen.

Beloved, I don't know you in person but God knows you. God ministered to me in a revelation when I was on your profile to see things around you,I saw blessings but spiritual attacks holding onto them,in prayers,i saw a woman in the realm of the spirit monitoring and plotting delay in your life, with an evil mirror, and with motive to destroy. But as I speak to you now her time is up, Render hand of favour with Anything you can afford or give to these motherless foundation (Godstime MOTHERLESS FOUNDATION.) in kebbi state Nigeria before 2DAYS with faith, as I Rise my hands towards heaven and pray for you they shall serve as point of contact wherever you are, you will receive double portion of grace to excel and total restoration of breakthrough in your life and in the life of your family. I don't understand why he was allowed to speak in the first. And our greatest problem in Africa is "we don't know who a leader is". Therefore democracy is not helping.

He was a great and visionary African leader. The tragedy is that most African leaders tend to not let go off power...That's our tragedy!

Ghanaians are now crying/missing the greatness of a leader of substance whose thoughts were gearing up for the United States of Africa whereby Africa natural resources could be meaningful for her citizenry and the growth for us all... That was the saying/thinking of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Love this! We need more Africans excellence videos, so much negativity surrounding Africa on this platform. I’ve dedicated my channel to uplifting Africa and it’s these channels that have inspired me to do so.
