We had a challenge in school for who could read a book in the wierdest/most unique place and one of the *teachers* won by reading a book whilst hanging upside down doing the splits on these silks

One time I was doing a performance, and the place I was performing was pretty empty. Only about 28 people. Then, I heard a bunch of loud noise, and my ENTIRE school. (Elementary school. Kindergarten-6th grade) came running in, including the teachers. We had a field trip that same day after school, (we had after school field trips.) and nobody told me where it was because they wanted it to be a “surprise”. They purposely planned it so that my entire school could see me perform.

I agree. Longer drops would help the impact points be even more emphasized

When I started I wasn't flexible or strong either. It's all about baby steps and small achievements and before you know it you've got your splits and you can lift you tush over your head ;-) - Coach Nadia

I feel you. Last time I tried doing a handstand I hyperextended my shoulder. At 3AM. With no one to help me. As you can probably tell, I’m not the smartest.

Honestly no.I am advanced on silks and I do much scarier things then that.It first goes recreational,intermediate,pre advanced,advanced,elite.Shes intermediate by what I’m seeing right now.

It's not that bad as long as you have a good teacher I have been doing it for 7 years and have not severely hurt myself because my teacher wont let me do it until they are sure I can

I absolutely love doing silks! Advice: don’t be scared to fall. Don’t worry, you won’t :) I waning scared at first and I advanced so fast!

I was a gymnast for a while, but I've ALWAYS wanted to try ariel dancing. It's so pretty

I saw people doing this when I was probably 5 or 6 years old and I thought it was so beautiful and wanted to do this. I hadn't seen this since then, and I don't know why it was recommended to me but I loved this so much.

Wonderful performance! Was this choreo or improv? If choreo, maybe a pinch more practice before filming could have been done for fluidity, though I'm not sure if that is how silk performances work because I don't do silks I do color guard/dance. All in all it was amazing work and I'd probably break myself trying to do something like it. If improv then holy carp how do you even I can't improv worth a dime and you just did something worth a million what's your secret

It was probably chores but it doesn't really get that fluid with Silks bc there's lots of steps. I do Aerial and performances are never hard skills one after another

With improv (as an aerialist, hammocks and just starting silks) it’s not that hard! You usually just go with your favorite tricks and string them together nicely! Executing them is another story 😂

Gave me goosebumps 🙇

I love doing this! I've done it for almost three years now and it's so AMAZING! I also do Lyra, which is a lot of fun too.

This is actually one of my friends performing, she did a fantastic job and I actually saw this video and thought it was a funny coincidence it looked like her and had the same name haha

I remember doing a routine with my partner on hoop for a comp (we do have these but they were small) and I was off beat by a second and I lost points because I laughed and I couldn’t get into the hoop. We still came second tho 😂
