This year I had 3 goats and 3 sheep that gave birth for the first time ever. Their instinct and clear love for their offspring is a wonder to behold. Particularly true as both breeds are "heritage" breeds (primitive, not exhaustively bred for specific traits) So strange to see how these animals who have no guide to tell them what's happening, can nevertheless function at a high level as effective, competent, loving parents.
