Times Megumi has tried to summon Mahoraga/Makora: 1. Against Sukuna (Gojo stopped him) 2. Against Sukuna in the detention centre (Yuji stopped him by taking control of his body and died) 3. Against Hanami in the exchange event (Maki stopped him) 4. Against the finger bearer curse (he stopped himself and used domain expansion for the first time) Edit: he didn't try to summon it on Todo before someone says he has. He would have most likely used Demon Dog Totality or Max Elephant on Todo, since those were his strongest shikigami.

JJK actually breaks the typical shonen arcs a lot which is great. And the power-scaling is very random and you just cannot predict what may happen. And man Megumi is so suicidal who was ready to pull it out 4 times in S1, and maybe on Todo lol. I feel bad for him, he just wanted his sister to live a good life with all the zenin drama.

Power scaling makes sense in this show since it's according to ranks of sorcerers or curses. It's not random at all, it's consistently accurate.

I think you just might not be as smart as you think. The power scaling is the opposite of random. I bet you're like those people who were surprised jogo was as strong as he is, when it was literally explained in season 1

Just to clarify, that thing is no where near gojo or sukuna. Yes, it killed a previous 6 eyes limitless user, but its heavily implied that they werent awakened like current gojo is. So if you wanted, you could say mahoraga is at teen gojo level (the one without red, purple, a domain expansion or 24/7 infinity). Gojo and Sukuna (now that he has 15 fingers) just exist in a different tier than any other character, its best to not compare them to anyone but each other.

I can't say too much, but our Gojo is definitely a lot more special than the other one from hundreds of years ago. Satoru Gojo literally died and came back to life, reached enlightenment, and quoted Buddha (the only other character that is placed on this level is Sukuna). He is also a talented sorcerer on top of the already broken technique.

"sukuna and yuji are NEVER going to be friends" how does it take people this long to realize 😭 this isnt some "oh the tailed beasts were really just misunderstood!!" he is PURE evil

Sukuna really delivered when he said it will be a slaughter in episode 1

What a visually mesmerizing episode! That Mahoraga was a damn problem. It gave Sukuna more of a hard time than Jogo did, which is crazy. Megumi is a mad lad for goin with such a wild kamikaze attack. I guess Fushiguro had some craziness up his sleeve that we didn’t know about. And according to Gojo his potential is crazy. Seeing the capability of Malevolent Shrine was ridiculous. Those poor civilians never stood a chance, but it was unbelievable to see how much of force of nature Sukuna can be. Calling him a menace is an understatement and he’s such a bastard for telling Yuji to savor the chaos and destruction he wreaked. I can see this madness is taking a toll on Itadori, so I hope he’ll be okay as this wild ride progresses. It was so satisfying to see that piece of shit Shigemo finally die, it was about damn time. And my man Nanami is still alive! He needs to see Shoko IMMEDIATELY! Can’t lose him now after giving me hope.

In the manga Sukuna doesn't struggle he more of just tries to figure out it's ability when he figures it out he does the domain and hits it with the fire arrow. It was more of just a street level fight with shibuya being destroyed by the domain and not the fight. I think it's interesting how they increase like the scale or magnitude of the fights like this for the anime

I think the main few reasons why Megumi summoned that one specifically are 1. He was about to die due to being stabbed by Toji as well as being slashed by Haruma or whatever his name is 2. Since he has not tamed it yet he does not have to spend cursed energy to summon it as he states that a sorcerer can summon a shikigami as many times as necessary for the sake of taming it (basically I think it only uses his cursed energy if it’s a tamed creature that he is now in physical control of, I think if he has no control over them he doesn’t have to use cursed energy) 3. He was basically just being petty and wanted to make sure that if he was going to die from just bleeding out let alone the guy coming after him then he might as well say fuckit and summon his most powerful option for the hell of it. It was pretty much a whole scene of “well imma die anyways so have fun bud!”😂

not sure if you remember this from the episode but it stated that the only way to defeat mahoraga is to kill it with a new attack before it can adapt, and it has to be an attack that it hasn't adapted to

if gojo fought mahoraga in shibuya, mahoraga wouldnt last as long as he did with sukuna.

keep in mind that this is only 15 fingers and that sukuna wanted to have fun fighting mahoraga before killing it. they both beat it easily, tho gojo realistically would have taken a bit of time to figure out its ability too.

@@reymaragagad3341 I think gojo's the type of guy to forget about civilians IF he absolutely has to, gojo did a big brain move by using his domain in 0.2 seconds to not kill any of the humans, but not sure gojo could try and save civilians and beat mahoraga at the same time. So imo gojos gonna go into the fight already knowing he has to try and kill it as soon as he can since he knows its tuff

you have to remember that not every sorcerer can use reversed curse technique and even the ones who can, including Gojo, can't use it on other people (correct me if i'm wrong tho!). That's why Shoko is so important.

From the limited edition official data book, Gege explained in so much detail that the Ten Shadows Technique is foremost believe by many (including Gojo Satoru himself), as the cursed technique capable of unseating the Six Eyes and Limitless as the pinnacle of modern day jujutsu, and the one who's born with that most esteemed/illustrious cursed technique is Megumi. So, it's no surprised that in-universe, Megumi is sought after and always talk about highly by many characters, this includes the horrifically abusive Zenin Clan (whose very eager to get their hands on young Megumi in the hopes of having Gojo's successor as the strongest sorcerer among their ranks). Sadly the data book is only released in Japan and had since stopped circulation at this time of writing.

Megumi was already going to die of blood loss anyways but him summoning Mahoraga just to take that coackroach with him is NEXT LEVEL PETTINESS, my boy demon dog would have been overkill alone and i know you pissed that he got you with a sneak attack from the back but GOD DAMN.

Someone already explained the amount of times Megumi was about to summon Maho, but yes, we started seeing those hand gestures since Season 1 Episode 1. The way the author kept on inserting that to tease us for this moment and for THAT flashback. Spiral down indeed. It’ll never end 😢 But kudos to the animators. The JJK team did a whole lot more compared to what happened in the manga. ❤

Okay! Just finished the reaction, you guys are still commenting so I might edit this comment a couple times or add up in my comments. Just as a reminder, the LAST thing Sukuna tells Yuji in s01e24? “It’s your fault! You took me in. (…) To save lots of people, was it? Brat! People are going to die because you live!” Sukuna kept his promise, because that’s what that was, a promise, and now, Megumi has to deal with the very same question he asked Yuji “What will you do when someone you saved kills someone else?” in s01e04, question that echoes in Yuji’s mind after Sukuna’s words in s01e24. I’m a manga reader, and tbh, this point feels like a season finale, doesn’t it? But we still have Mahito and Getwo to worry about, Sukuna wasn’t the main evil right now, he was only out for between 23 to 28 minutes. About Hallow Purple, I don’t remember that well but I believe Satoru said most of people in his clan had no clue about the technique, because it’s basically impossible to do. Only a limited amount of people knew of it, I’m not sure if it was something they thought could be done, or if there was an actual precedent for its use. Megumi has tried to use Mahoraga since s01e02 against Sukuna, then he tried again in s01e05 against Sukuna, then I believe against Hanami during the school event arc, and then on s01e23 when he was fighting the special grade but ended up doing his Domain Expansion, which was a turning point for him. Megumi never had the possibility of losing a fight, basically, but all of those “wins” would’ve been at the expense of his own life. Mahoraga, as Sukuna said, is the perfect late throw in rock-paper-scissors, will always have the perfect counter (if it’s adapted). Mahoraga during the fight didn’t adapt to just one of Sukuna’s techniques even if Sukuna only used one type of cut initially, no, Mahoraga adapted to the concept of “cuts” as a whole which is why Sukuna tried to stop its regeneration speed with both Cleave and Dismantle, and then released his fire technique, one Mahoraga had not seen in the fight and couldn’t adapt to (just summarizing it in case there are some doubts about it as catching everything when a fight is going on is HARD). Anyway, great reaction as always! Can’t wait for the next one, hopefully the animators will get a break but knowing Mappa and Japan’s working culture I doubt it. So let’s hope the animators get the compensation they deserve and a well deserved rest once the season ends. Fun fact! One of the layouts for the inside of the buildings is the Mappa studio, coincidence? I think not. In the end, I think I was able to say everything I wanted to say in one comment 😂

I don’t think Megumi would ever be to be on gojo’s lvl. I think Gojo was the first person to ever have the 6 eyes, limitless technique, and reverse curse technique all in one, which is was really makes him so strong + him learning reverse curse technique probably pushed him to become even stronger/learn more about him and his ct. Assuming that, the 6 eyes, limitless technique user that lost to 10 shadows wouldn’t have had things like red and hallow purple, etc.

Definitely not the first one to have all of those. The Gojo family already knew about Red and Purple techniques.

Remember yuji and yuta are still alive because everyone was afraid of gojo and he took care of them. Now no one is there to defend yuji . Ino said that the sealing of gojo is going to be trouble for sorcerer like yuji , because now they all going to blame and attack yuji .

the anime made mahoraga vs sukuna look like more of a fight then it actually was. sukuna no diffed him in the manga and it shows sukunas BIQ alot better then the anime. with that said the anime did a great job on the fight

If you didn't know, the animators are being forces to overwork by Mappa right now and they are in pain. So ironically that nanami walking out perfectly summarizes the exact condition of the mappa animators right now.

every time I watch the anime or read the manga, I realize that for a guy who's op af and is great at picking up talented sorcerers, he sucks at predicting how strong they can actually be. Every comment he made on his students were pure overestimation, I genuinely thought "maybe" yuta or hakari can be similar to his level at some point but reading the manga you realize gojo and sukuna are straight up the 2 strongest to ever be, the gap is crazy. Reminds of the comment kusakabe made to yuji after itadori said he thought gojo can't use simple domain, and kusakabe just said it's not that he can't do it, he can't teach it cuz natural geniuses are terrible teachers

Mahoraga isn't even close to as strong as Satoru Gojo. The other limitless and six eyes user from the clan previously clearly wasn't anywhere near as strong as the Gojo we know. Recall Gojo's growth during his near death? Prior to that he couldn't even use reverse cursed technique, much less hollow purple. And forget about the prior Gojo clan member having a domain as strong as Infnite Void. That domain is stronger than Sukuna's. What Satoru Gojo was getting at is that Megumi could at least be on the level of a regular limitless + six eyes user. And if he gains control over Mahoraga, it would go a long way towards him realising his currently sealed potential.

It's not a spoiler as they mentioned it many time gojo is strongest in modern era but sukuna is the strongest throughout the history and the sorcerers thousand years ago were much stronger then modern time

*Spoiler free* Mahoraga adapts to anything that doesn't instantly kill it - Sukuna wasn't exactly pushed to use domain expansion, it was more a test to see whether it adapted to the specific cursed technique, in this example Dismantle or slashing in general - By opening his domain, he confirms that it is indeed the phenomena of slashing, and not just Dismantle, Since Mahoraga is getting slashed by cleave aswell as dismantle at once and still regenerating, he then fires the fire arrow in order to oneshot Mahoraga with something it hasn't adapted to - Each spin increases it's resistance to the given phenomena Things to take note of: Mahoraga doesn't adapt instantly, it is gradual and increases in power over several spins, hence why the leg took so long to grow back at first. After the first spin, Mahoraga was able to SEE sukunas invisible slashes, which is what excited Sukuna so much, and also why his slashes turned from invisible to being those black lines you see Mahoraga can be summoned again despite being offed, because it was part of the ritual to tame it, and not a straight up summon of it.

if sukuna fight right know gojo he doesn't stand a chance against gojo because he can't go pass limitless but mahoraga can so that explain why he is interested in megumi , his only competition is gojo and it seem like he is preparing a plan for that

well actually i recently discovered that sukuna is basicy inspired from japanese sukuna deity and from God Agni. If you saw old pictures of God agni then you will clearly see the similarities.
