Ali used the scissors to cut the green onion because it was a call back to when Marcus' mom was teaching her to cook as a kid and she told her Koreans use scissors to cut everything. It was a cute nod to show she still carries her with her.

That chicken that you made, us Puerto Ricans we call it pollo guisado, which means stewed chicken. It is a staple in the Puerto Rican cuisine. Also the smashed plantains we call them tostones. Love Jimmy O Yang.

(Btw next time all you gotta do is cut the end and slice down the skin with your knife, peels away perfectly)

Raw plantain is bad for your tummy! Don't eat it like that. lol When the plantain is nice and green, you can cook it in stews or slice it and fry it. When the plantain starts to turn yellow - wait until it gets dark, then slice it and fry it: it'll taste like caramel 😋

This was such a nice funny video to watch. I loved Jimmy's reaction to tasting the tostones (the fried smashed green plantains). I would recomend you look for and try making patacones, a venezuelan dish that has the fried plantains used in the same way but as a bread for the protein or used has burger buns.
