    2 things I do not like with this match: 1) at 3:54 - 3:56, Riner gave Inoue a right hook! That is boxing. 2) That counter is NOT a koka!! IMO, that’s just a call by the ref. to luckily make Riner with the match.

    Sometimes someone is so much larger than his competitors that he can win on physical advantages alone. Riner's physical advantages are so massive that it's almost like comparing men v. women. It's not his fault that nobody his size or athleticism competes in judo (most of them are probably in the NFL), but on the same token we cannot really say he's a skilled judoka.

    All that Riner did was spoil. No decent attacks, he just didn't want to let Inoue practise Judo at all. The decision was a disgrace to French refereing, it was a no score, but they were determined to give Riner the win. A shameful moment in the history of French judo.

    I think maybe if K. Inoue could have broken T. Riner's right side grip and then applied left side tsuri komi goshi, he could have thrown Riner. Not easy yo do, but Riner's lappel grip was keeping Inoue at a distance, making it impossible to apply uchi mata.

    If they were the same size, Riner doesn't stand a chance. Heck, Riner would be an absolute nobody if he competed against people his size. This is basically Anton Geesink situation all over again - some half a century later. A European is just way larger than his better-skilled Asian competitors, and hence dominates.

    I honestly can not tell that to Yasuyuki Muneta. I went and tried. Can not be done. That man is not legendary but mythical. I saw impossible timing on a counter on a kouchi gaki with a prepeared seoi nage and then in the next clip he goes in a hold with a attempted sasae tsurikomi ashi, lifts the opponent on him like some kind of front ura nage and then finishes sasae tsurikomi ashi like "Yea... That's my Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi." So many judo legends, and Riner will be remembered as a legend. For his legendary gigantism. Hah!

  • @DocteurInfierno
    @DocteurInfierno6 жыл бұрын

    Pourquoi Kosei Inoue est tombé chez les poids lourds? (+100 kg) Le désavantage, dans cette catégorie, c'est que tu peux rencontrer des personnes qui pèsent 50-100 kg de plus que toi. Il n'y a pas de limites. Il a diminué ses chances d'aller aux olympiques à cause de ça. Mais, selon moi, Kosei Inoue est carrément supérieur à Teddy Riner techniquement. Mais Teddy est tellement imposant physiquement qu'il n'a aucune difficulté à contrer n'importe quelle attaque
