Which why I'm my humble opinion a lot of today's Judo has lost its efficacy because everyone's very willing to give up their back this is my opinion is very effective way to compete in Judo if you notice not only are they using trips tosses and reaps and ippoms if one presents itself, but they're going head-to-head and wrestling a bit so if you see this guy in the street and he gets ahold of you good luck and I can't say the same for a lot of today's judoka.

Still turning out for his country now as a 40 year old copper and really turning those bigger guys over in style. What a legend. It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🇬🇧

Great fight! Not many heavyweights can produce such a spectacular fight. Take a look at modern-day 100+kg.... Many of them are just Shido-kings...

Сергей Лапицкий : I believe,if i’m not mistaken, which ever the brand is,all judogis have to meet specific requirements... Today’s addidas top level judogis are made in pakistan or china i think. That addidas judogi must have been made in germany and german made products were always and still are recognized for their flawless quality which leads me to believe that Muneta had superhuman strength to tare thoses pants like that lol...

Я с вами полностью согласен, я был в сборной страны и бросил рано, но бросил как раз перед тем как правила поменяли, так что не жалею, а сына на бокс отдал, хотя сам 15 лет проборолся и отец столько же!

A red belt in competition is to differentiate the fighters if they both wear white judogis. One fighter wears the red belt, the other wears the white one

red belt is the highest belt in judo?

Yes it is. But in this particular video each judoka has a red or a white belt in addition (!) to their regular belt. This was the common way to distinguish the judokas for the referee, before blue judogi's were introduced. So in all old videos, you will see competitors wearing red & white belts on top of theire (usually black) belts.
