JUDGE- "What Was Said and Where It Went" (unfinished documentary)
This is a rough cut of a short documentary that Porcell, Sam Siegler I were doing together. This is not final. The audio is NOT mixed and the graphics were never finalized. Unfortunately I had a hard drive crash and lost all the elements which stopped us from wrapping this project up and making it complete. This version is close to final and all I had left over.
I hate showing incomplete work so please don't JUDGE it too harshly (pun intended), I just want to show what it was going to be to anyone that may have heard about this and wondered why it never came out while also find a bit of closure in it for myself.
Also it needs to be noted that this is owned by Revelation Records

Jimmy Yu is a professor at FSU these days. I had him my very last semester in College...he taught a Zen Buddhism class I was taking. I didn't find out that he was part of the hardcore scene until the last few weeks of the class. He now teaches meditation classes regularly every week to students. He is an amazing guy, and the most interesting professor I've ever had at FSU.
Awesome job. Nice to see someone documenting a band that had an enormous influence on the hardcore scene. Great editing work, it flows really well.
whhoooa....i was really waiting for something like that for so long. thus its sad it has not been released on dvd. JUDGE was and still is one of the best bands ever!!!!!!! Judge is my soundtrack of life.....and it always makes me positively strong!!!
One of my first NY-HC bands, and one of the GREATEST,Thanks from Germany!!!
this is amazing. Thanks for making it available. I loved every second of it. I am feeling so nostalgic right now i might cry haha. But seriously, AMAZING!!!!!
This is the coolest hardcore related thing I've seen in ages. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for putting this together! Great job! Thanks again and take care of yourself.
Fascinating. Watching these Judge documentaries really puts the band in a better context for me. I used to think all those bands I listened to back in the day were just copying Minor Threat in a harder way. I had no idea about the situations that inspired Judge and other straightedge bands. Really interesting stuff.
Thanks for sharing this. It's absolutely incredible.
"I just don't feel it no more, that's my story and I'm sticking to it." For the longest time I thought Judge would be the one NYHC band whose legacy spoke for itself and needed no reunion.
I love this band. They had a big impact on me growing up. I hope they release a follow-up album to Bringin' it Down. The Storm has to be one of the best Hardcore songs of all time. Evokes the same darkness and foreboding as the B side of My War.
First lesson in the big book of editing: always have triple back ups. But this shit is great, and so is Judge
great video, brings back memories. thanks!
Great featurette. Even if this is "unfinished", it is very cool. One of my all-time favorite bands, and this vid brought back a lot of cool memories. Nice job.
this is amazing. thank you so much.
I was never straight edge and have loved the shit outta this record for 20 years.... Cant wait to see them Saturday.... finally.
Thanx for posting man!!!
whoops! there it is! sorry, I was too hasty to speak because my eyes were literally glued to the screen, concentrated on all the action. congratulations on what looks like one of the best documentaries to come out of hardcore, thanks for the preview!
