There is the U.S.‘s criminal code and also legal precedent that the judge has to consider and abide by. If the criminal code in the US is similar to Canada’s then it specifies maximum jail sentences for most serious crimes. E.g. in Canada the maximum prison sentence for a hit-and-run is ~5 years. If the judge wasn’t bound by legal precedent and the criminal code’s limits on sentencing then she definitely would have given him life without parole. But to a guy that old, 22 years is more than the rest of his life so the outcome is good in the end

It does hurt you. Sadly I know too..... But you are not totally ruined. You can still feel compassion, kindness and empathy for others who are hurt as well. These qualities make us human. Unfortunately some people misuse their free agency to hurt others in their bad choices of selfishness, to satisfy only themselves and their own lusts, at the expense of a child's life and intrinsic right to innocence. A perverted pedophile is narcissistic, they think of no one but themselves and their own twisted lusts. They do not care who they hurt. They have no compassion or empathy for anyone else. Their souls are dark, evil, totally vile, twisted and deformed. They are parasites. The Lord will have His vengeance upon them.

I was 7 years old when I was sexually assaulted. I can confirm the ramifications last a lifetime. It took me 22 years to forgive him, after decades of hating myself and hating him. When I started dating, I was pertrified of being touched (not sexually, but something as simple as pushing my hair behind my ear or wrapping an arm around me). I still can’t go to the gynocologist without hyperventilating, and vomiting during pelvic exams. They have warnings on my medical record that I was sexually assaulted and doctors have to be warned by staff that I am a victim of a senseless crime. When I get married - if I get married. My husband will have to pay for someone else’s crime when I have panic attacks when we try to be intimate. I wanted to die for the longest time and used to ask God “why couldn’t he have killed me? Then I wouldn’t have to suffer!” Sometimes something sets me off, and I panic. But I’m still here and still alive.

Mine start when I was a baby. I remember being fondled even at 1 or 2 years of age in my nappy it got worse and real at 6 and continued until I escaped with help from a friend at 22... my family knew and my mother abused n defended the abusers too. It happendd by more than one person. The people who support me now sound like they want to validate my reality but then they say things like I work in a panel like this of abuse against children and they have had it worse than you have... It is clear they see me as a case file even though I'm not theirs And their mother got two men to rape them while she held them down. I honestly have not even had the time or chance to feel out fully all that was done to me over the 22 years trapped in abuse. There were a lot of things done to me. Every single day of my life. I'm still unravelling and remembering things even today. 10 years on. For one of the many abuse. My mother knew about the abuser and on purpose left me to his way when I was only 6 and then mocked humiliated and ridiculed and slapped and blamed me for it in front of the whole family. She then also left me a lone after school where I was almost kidnapped and then again she also left me to drown in swimming pool and then left her new man my stepdad have his way with me and my baby sister and defended them and protected them calling us liars n out to get the family. She knew what happened between another abuser and one of my older sister and told me she was going to let it happen. A mother does not need to hold a child down to let them be abused. Plus that the most beatings and psychological abuse I recieved was from my mother and my sexual abuser. I do not see now how my experiences can measure to anothers they are mine n I have to live it every day for the rest of my life the so called support who minimised my suffering does not. I do not see now how the one she mentioned is not similar to mine just coz my mother did not hold me down. She is too clever for that. She knows how to cover her behaviours in a way to get away with her own abuse. She knows how to manipulate and psychologically mess you up too. And she knew how to fool tbe authorities. Disgusting things she did to her baby daughter and her young daughter to defend her love and sons. Twisted things she did to convince the police. Things no mother should ever put an abused child through for sake of the abusers she shows are more important to her. If throwing your kids out to the wolves are not just as bad as what my support claims is worse than mine. I guess people need to have gone through it to understand the damage and scar and how mixed up and psychological messed up and undeveloped one is.... The only difference is I was not rescued from it as a child and had a defense... I was all alone helpless scared trapped self loathing and being further injured every day until I grew into 22 body though I had the mind of a 6 year old... others could not see that... they used it against me either by gain or by further abuse... how I long to have the family this support has and still has. She goes off to visit her siblings and parents that are still alive. Having come from an upbringing that helped her develop balanced and the way it should have been I suppose... my other support complains about her mother still making her home cooked meals. And having to take it to be polite. What a miserable family and parent she must have. To look down on me. I wish I can tell them swap places then if you think you understand my experiences and do not know how real my only experiences are... I can never know what it is to have a normal healthy mother and upbringing and family. I was raised alone I raised myself. N the only normal thing I did in the only freedom I was given was to protect my vulnerable siblings from harm which of course being a kid I failed at. But one is free now. One does not want to be free maybe is too brainwashed to stay n be abused that way. I do not understand her reasons to stay she keeps claiming it is her room she does not want to leave her bedroom she has only ever known. Shrugs no idea why that matters when you are being sexually and mentally n physically abused every day to be honest. She is older than me. But she also told me to die basically for trying to get her out of the abuse. Because I've made her life worse. She often says things she does not mean for other reasons but she wouldn't tell me why she chose to stay there. Really we got her out and she went right back there. Baffles me to this day. My friend said she is brainwashed by the abusers. But I can not see that. She is not that dumb. Anyway I had been making my own abuse so little and everyone elses so big over mine for 29 years. Then after my only friend showed his true colours he was taking advantage of my position to control and abuse me hoping to get sexual advances eventually. Which when he knew I wouldn't bend for his tune he got angry and showed his true colours. Which I never gave him instead I cut him off. Then not long after my baby sister abused me for the last time out of her silly teen envy of me. I grew harder and colder. I trusted no one. At all. N cut everyone on n put me first. I had done work on my voice self esteem self worth self view inner voice over 6 years n then I worked on my flashback n truamas hearing and validating them. I had no one else there for me until my support friend got involved to defend me against support that way threatening me and coercion and using fear to control me. The same support who were not there for me whenever I reached out for help. So she fought my cases and got me my safety and human rights back... but I'm tired of fighting those who are suppose to support hear trust respect validate etc my suffering is minimized constantly n I'm treated like a child with no rights one minute and a capable criminal adult for not being. Able to cope and manage like I'm without any disabilities the next. I do not expect them to understand but if people just treated survivors like the judge did in this video. They would not spend their life being further blamed shamed violated and treated like the cause and squashed or dismissed without compassion for what they live with for the rest of their lives. It takes a life time to even heal developed unravel it in the first place before we can Express it. So even if others stop minimizing our experiences based on what you think you know or understand about us. You have no lived in our footsteps and you have no lived our experiences and developed through it nor have you any idea all that has happened that we have no expressed to you. And even when we talk about it we minimize it ourselves we don't need you doing it too. Treating us like we are seeking sympathy and needing to squash us back down. We need it heard felt and validated before it becomes big and real for our brains to develop and heal past it. What the woman in this video said is what we need.

I’ve just turned 34. This judge, showing emotion. Absolutely nothing wrong with it!. I feel for those kids because I’m telling you, the ages that they’re, this absolutely will stay with them. 23 years ago. I turned 11 on 27th June 2000. In November 2000 people finally put a stop to the abuse I had been suffering from every Tuesday, every Thursday for the previous 9 years. It started when I was around 2/3 and finished just after I turned 11. I’ve been blessed with an amazing little girl, she’s 11 is my daughter. And this is going to make me sound heartless. However, there literally is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. Her mum is the same. That being said, if I could go back in time and have 2 doors to choose from. Option 1 is to live the actual life that I’ve lived accumulating in my daughters arrival back on 12th Jan 2012. With option 2. Having the option to be put to sleep and never wake up… It may make me sound selfish or something but I’d be picking option 2 everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. It doesn’t matter wether your male or your female, when things like this happen, and when it haunts you, it doesn’t matter how much of a manly man or a woman’s woman you are… Scares hurt, and anyone that says they don’t, says it because they haven’t lived in your shoes thankfully. Anyways I’ll stop babbling: I truly hope these kids have nothing but love and joy from this point onwards. God bless and stay safe/

Killers are mostly bad people through and through, but even they know that pedophilia is completely unacceptable. Which is why pedos usually get tortured in jail

Wow, I just heard about this case and I came to hear the judge. GOOD FOR HER! Her short speech was so right on! I agree, children today are our future tomorrow!

r mcallister while I’d donate to a patreon to pay her bail, even she recognized that any further and he could appeal. Even with this, if he can get a sympathetic judge, he has a slim chance of appeal. She toed to line to protect these girls but did her best to ensure that one day those girls will know at least one adult will protect them.
