I was a guard for a prison. I can tell you, the shot-callers use lawyers on the outside to find papers on all inmates, and this guy is going to be in big trouble. The prison can either put him in the hole or send him out to the yard, if it's the latter, he's fucked.

bs!!! i grew up south side chicago and in 6th grade i had friends that would get in trouble alot i would too with them in school...after a year or so two of them became gangbangers....at that point i knew they fucked up i was like 12.... years pass by, i was a sophomore in high school... that same friend i would walk to school and he would be in the corner saying was up to me... but he got killed second year of high school and my other friend got killed when i finished high school.....na kids know what they doing i knew that gang life will not get you no where but prison or killed.

If no one noticed, they have about 8 cops in the courtyard to keep order in anticipating that there will be a riot and the victim's family will attack the 17-year-old perp. Totally understandable. That is a damn shame to even think that people might lose control and attack anyone in court, or there is a perceived lack of order in a court room that you need a dozen cops. I have seen this judge before, and he shows class to all defendants. If you were to interview him, I bet he would say he has total empathy for the victims' families as well as the perps who have lost their souls. He's fair to all regardless of race. He sees countless idiots who have thrown their lives away. He is only stage one in the court process, but the perp's crime is heinous, and the perp needs long prison time. Throw away the key.
