I was raised in churches that taught on topics. I even went to Bible colleges that taught like that. Sometimes it breaks my heart to think of the years I spent not understanding "the balance" you speak of. I once heard a decent teacher speaks on topics but a great teacher teaches scripture passages. Thank you for what you do! Praying for you, your church and your online worldwide ministry.

Blessings to you Pastor Paul! We draw on or Faith to contend for The Truth with the Grace God has given us. This requires actions, whether more interactive or spending time in prayer and meditation communing with Our Lord. As you just said - "We Do". We carry out (perform works) to demonstrate our love and faith to Our Lord and to be an example to others- a living sermon; often more effective than sitting thru a sermon. IMO.

Wow, I deeply appreciate these Word ..ex ?...... can't spell that word, of how you teach the Books of the Bible.,. We often listen these days to these sermons and then we fall back on the "unlocking the bible" series of David Pawson about the same book. God then really turn our spirits upside down and work so intensely in our lives. I'm at the point where I can hardly listen to more than ons msg a week, because God takes over in a very deep heart surgery and revelation way. The book of Jude David Pawson mentioned the deception in the church, specifically referring to South Africa where I live. I had to go through these lies/deceptions the past 30 years in this country, the effect on a person, is terrifying!! One just couldn't escape it, even though one listened to all sermons prayerfully, taking every msg back to God, it still had a tremendous destructive effect on a person and brought doubt and an incredible confusion which I don't wish anybody to experience. Deception/Lies releases an incredible spiritual disease among the body of Christ. One can only fearfully pray to God to protect His remnant. With this msg one understands even more of the warning to the church in Jude. If you live in Africa, you must understand spiritual warfare. In Jude God gave me such a fear for Him, to really seek His face, never to pray wrong, especially when you are in/at war in the spirit. With wrong I mean, not to pray prayers according to the fleshly desires or view point, but prayers stripped of carnality. Only what He would've prayed if He was in one's situation. Thank you for a great message! Lots to ponder on.

I must confess that I do have to repent about those thoughts often. My opinion is that some Christians actually read and study their Bible. Others only attend church events so they haven’t yet been able to catch and repent for the pride and the idolatry in their hearts so it just comes out of their mouths and in their motives. But we must be careful to check our hearts before we speak and take the log out before we even think that we could help to approach the scoffers. I totally understand the judgmental thoughts but it’s really not our judgement, it’s the Lord’s. Remember Proverbs 9:8 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you.

Why did the pastor not put in a few words of prayer for the persecuted church around the world instead of restricting his prayer of petition for protection only to the super conformable, prosperous church of the west? Anyhow, we appreciate the teaching of the word of God

a proud heart hates correction. they will say that the person that God sends to correct is unloving and unkind…. And say: “How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!” and a proud heart is easily offended Jesus was God, but He made himself of no reputation. He did not care what others thought about Him, or what they said about Him.

The word used in the Greek is NOT “gospel.” The word exists and Jude could have used it, but he chose another word, the word “faith.” To contend for the faith is to speak about the Will of God for us and for the Church. This includes the gospel but is wider than simply the message of salvation itself. It extends to the authority structure that God has put into place. It covers the authority of men as heads of their families and leaders of the local church.
